St. Thomas Arrival

Good question Samsma.
Also, how early do they usually have you meet immigration?

Guesstimate ~ by 8 - 8:30 am if Immigration goes well. :)

The Navigator says you can expect to dock around 7:30am.,
but I remember arriving much earlier. For Immigration ck. you will have an assigned time, depending on your room #, I believe ours was 6:30am. Soon as it was over we grabbed a quick breakfast, packed our picnic for the island trip, got 16 people rollin', and met our tour guide at 8:30am. They like you back to the ship by 4ish as it sails by 4:30. Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong. Have a great trip! ;)

Thank you for your help. I didn't realize it could be as early as 6:30. That should be a panic trying to rouse my kids and get them out and ready! Let's hope I'm a wee bit later.

thedisneymom - how's the packing/list making going? Did you ever buy your pad? :p

We were on the last Eastern Magic cruise and the times for immigration were like this:
Non US citizens: 6:30
Everyone else: Between 7-8

Not yet!! I had a list of activities planned from navigators. I had included the teen ones also. Later, I went to type it and clicked on Barb's site. I then noticed a problem. The new April navigators have different activities and times. So I begin again. My daughter, husband, and myself are pretty well covered outfit wise for the cruise. I only need some new capris for day wear. Hubbie dresses in suits for work and also has a tux. My daughter has her grad dress and party gown. I also have formal wear. I'm just not sure about semi formal wear. I have a 3 piece set but I dont know if its dressy enough. My son is the problem. He came home this weekend and informed me that nothing fits him. We now need cargo pants, Dockers, jeans, shorts, and a suit. Words cannot describe my joy! He hates to try anything on-never mind shop for it. Wish me luck. I would really like to rent a tux for him on the ship, but I'm not sure of his suit size. Have any ideas?

Internet Shopping!!! Thats my only solution. I know its hard to shop for boys. Mine likes Old Navy, the problem is, he's a little chunky, and in order to fit around the waste, I have to have about a foot taken off the length! We are actually skipping formal night, and DH and I are (hopefully) just going to eat in semi-formal fashion at Palo on that (Thurs if think) night. Room service then club for kiddies. So that's my big solution for formal night, I'll skip it!:p

The ship was in St Thomas by 6:30 when we cruised, but they didn't let anyone off until the exact time quoted. We had our verandah door opened and awoke to squawking birds so knew we were near land. We were on the port side, and overlooked the docks. While the rest of my family was sleeping, I enjoyed watching all the hustle and bustle below of everyone in port preparing for the passengers to disembark. The taxis/open air taxis, shuttles, etc all arrived forming their line, the drivers were out polishing their vehicles, etc etc. Interesting to observe :)

thedisneymom-
take your son to Dillards or some store that will fit him and get his measurements- the order a tux fom the cruiseline. My hubby us wearing a tux- I have evening gowns and I ordered my daughter an evening gown online. I love to dress up though!! As for daywear- I usually wear shorts/tanks over my bathing suit or coverups. On days we are in port I always do capris and also wear them in the evening for dinner. I also wear either a nice capri suit or sundress to Palo for High Tea!!!! You will not be underdressed in a 3 piece outfit on regular dining nights. We had a whole table behind us last May who wore SHORTS on formal night- seriously. I don't know if they just didn't read the guidelines or if they just didn't care- it did not hamper my evening, I just felt for them since they were so out of place.
Look forward to seeing you girls soon in about 55 days!!!!!!!!

Julie - have you planned your excursions in St. Thomas yet? Either DCL or on your own? That's why the thread. We're having a guide pick us up and show us the main attractions. $35/pp. I didn't think that was too bad for all day.

That is what I am trying to decide on. We loved horseback riding in St Maarten but I don't think my DD's friend likes riding so we are just hitting the beach by the water taxi area with the water trampoline. We are taking the girls back to the ship after a couple of hours and then hubby and I are going to restock our liqour cabinet!
In St Thomas- they have amazing beaches but I worry that 3 days on beaches and there will be burns or burnout! and I want them to enjoy CC- so I haven't decided. I really could use some guidance!!! We have done the Atlantis sub and have also done the Island Tour (which we booked ourselves) and had a WONDERFUL time. I am not sure that the girls would enjoy it but I did. Drakes Seat and Mountaintop are must sees- it was amazing to be overlooking 2 oceans from 1 point.
One time- I just went to art galleries while my DH and DD went playing on the island. We did eat at Hardrock that time also. We took the 2 way radios and they worked great.

Thanks for the advice. Also, sorry for the delay in responding. My internet service is down. I"M GOING NUTS! I can't check the boards and I'm losing it. Hopefully on again later this week. :(

thedisneymom-

Don't worry, be happy!!! You're going on a cruise. What else matters?

Wow I feel like I've been through withdrawal. Testy and just miserable since Saturday. I never realized how happy it makes me to check the boards. How all of the happy people and their thoughts can brighten your day. I haven't been able to get online and it was awful. I really appreciate having my time to "Dis" now more than ever. Only 52 more days! Yippee! :bounce: :Pinkbounc
