St. Petes Beach/ Clearwater

We are staying at St. Petes for a few days before going to WDW. Does anyone know how long it takes to get from St. Petes to Clearwater? We are thinking of going on Captain Memo's sunset tour. Is there public transportation- we wil have a car?

I also want to go to Shell Key, are there any other Must-Do's for the area?
What are some great (yet not OTT priced) restaurants in St. Pete.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

It's about 30 mins from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater (by car). There is public transport called the jolley trolley. It is (or was) $1 and takes you all the way up gulf blvd. (I think you have to transfer though). Not sure about shell key.

We like to go to the Hurricane's rooftop to watch the sunset. It is in Pass-a-grille just down from St. Pete. A nice neighbourhood. Here is a link:

We really like Sam Seltzer's steakhouse for a great meal at a good price.

the suncoast beach trolley cover pass-a-grille up to clearwater, the jolley trolley only covers the clearwater area.

if you're going to Shell Key, check out Forst DeSoto Park. visit John's Pass. restaurants are everywhere, it depends on what you're looking for cuisine-wise.
