St. Martin's Caribbean Clothes

Does anyone know where to buy the Caribbean clothes I keep reading about that are so cheap in St. Martin? I have read they have great deals and to wait and buy clothes there for Tropical Night. Are the stores within walking distance to the ship? We are planning on taking a cab and doing Dawn's Beach on our own that day...do we need to be dropped off somewhere special to find tropical clothes, or can we be dropped off at the ship and just walk. There's plenty of shopping available at downtown Philipsburg.

Thanks Dave...is that walkable from the ship or will we need our cab? What is the deal with the water taxis I see on your map? Can you take a water taxi to and from the shops and the ship? What is the best way to get from the shops to the ship?

The water taxi is a great deal! It runs back and forth between the dock and downtown all day until 6pm. The cost is $5/pp for unlimited trips. Kids are free. The drop-off location downtown is convenient for Great Bay Beach and for the shopping district.

Land taxis would cost $3/pp each way, each time. You could walk it in about 15 minutes, but that area isn't particularly "pedestrian friendly".

The clothes are EVERYWHERE in Phillipsburg! We just got back from the March 23rd cruise. We went to the beach in the morning and then had lunch in Phillipsburg at the Bear Claw and then there are MANY little booths of all those outfits. Got one for my daughter who is almost 11 and it cost a whopping $7.00!!! You can even do a matching outfit for yourself if you are so inclined.
