Has anyone done this excursion? How was it? We are looking for a non-beach/non-water excursion for St. Maarten and was hoping this one would be worthwhile. (I had read on another thread that the "Sea and See Island Tour" isn't very good, and that the Butterfly Farm is a bit boring.) Any comments?

We did this excursion about 3 years ago when we were there and you take a bus which takes you through both the Dutch and French side with a stop to do some shopping on the French side for about 45mins to an hour. This is a non beach tour and the entire tour took about 3 hours.....hope this kind of helps out....Andy

It was ok, it was more of a overview of the island and the history behind it.

If you are a shopper there is not a lot of time on the French side, you might want to take a cab over there to shop. If you you just feel like a morning out and about it was fine. We were 3 adults one child and had lots to do and see, with plenty of shopping by the ship on the Dutch side after the tour.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We took it, I have some photo's and a review of it on my cruise site--click the link in my sig.

Anne, what a wonderful website! Thanks for the photos and info about this excursion. --Katrina

Hi: We chose this excursion 2 year ago. Our driver gave our group about 1/2 to "shop" on the French side. Once all of us ladies found a public restroom (filthy) and my husband found a place that sold Pepsi products, we had to get back on the bus. You'll see a lot of poverty as you drive to the other side, however, we made a couple of stops at some scenic overlooks. An interesting sight was seeing cactus on St. Martin. We had more fun walking and shopping on the Dutch side and we had a snack at a cafe that was on DCL's "approved" list. Jan

KatrinaB - I am looking for the same type excursion! I am debating between See & Sea, ButterFly Farm and the Under 2 Flags Tours. I also thought the same things about them as you. Have you made a decision yet? I still have not.

Anyone else's opinion?

CindyBeth,
No, I haven't decided yet, and to be honest, I'm actually getting a bit discouraged. We cruise in 23 days. Maybe I'll just skip the tours and do some shopping or something on my own. --Katrina
