St. John's Excursions

We are a family of dh, dw, and dd 4 and 8. We tried to book a snorkel/beach day on St. John, but the minimum age is 5.

Finally my question. Has anyone chartered a boat for the day in St. Thomas that then takes you to St. John?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
