Someone please tell me about this one? What beach do they go to on St. John? Do you have to swim to shore or are you in water that you can wade to shore? Or do you dock?

Thanks all :)

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I read in the Passporter that you have to "swim a little way" to get to the beach. I am trying to figure out what that really means since my DD will want to play on the beach while DH and DS snorkel. She is 5 and can swim a little bit, but I don't know if I can manage to get her, me and our towels ashore.

We've done this excursion in the past. You anchor off shore. We went to Honeymoom Bay (beach??). The beach looked pretty nice - lots of sand and a gentle slope into the water.

Getting yourself and DD to shore shouldn't be to dificult. Make sure you put on a buoyance compensator (and fill them with air) and you and dd will float no problem. As far as a beach towel - I have NO idea on how to get them to shore. I think that everyone snorkeled or stayed on the catamaran on my excursion.

A lot of the coral there is mustard coral or fire coral. If you touch them they will give you a nasty rash/burn. But you're not supposed to touch the coral anyway because you can kill them that way. We weren't anchored directly over the reef. We were off to the side. Once you got into the water you had to swim over to the reef.
