Boy, Mark sure gets around! I had the pleasure of meeting his family last year when the came through the area. Pretty soon we'll be playing the game of 7 degrees of separation of Captain_Oblivious on the DIS! :lmao:

Glad you guys had a great time! You're so sweet, Kat!

Sounds like a great meet! How sweet of you to take gifts for everyone! Those little boys are too cute!

Kat,

I'm looking forward to reading about your experience at AKL. We stayed at AKL (first time) for 4 nights last summer and are staying at CSR (first time) for our 7-night trip next month. I am very interested in comparing the two. There are things that we loved and things we didn't love as much as we had expected to at AKL. Can't wait to try CSR!!

What a fun looking meet!! I see poor Dave has been "infected" by the Cubs :sad2: poor kid - some of us can't help it, we are born that way, but I thought they lived far enough away to be immune. :rotfl:

Evan sounds like my middle son - when he is full he is done. You can't get him to take even one more bite, he insists there is no more room. :lmao: He may be my (somewhat) special needs kids, but when it comes to stopping eating - he is the smartest one of all of us.

Scottys hot dog looked yummy. Did it live up to it's look? My kids wouldn't have thought it was a "real" hot dog because it didn't come in a plain old bun.

Glad to hear that Andy will possibly be able to join you for part of your trip. If he doesn't find anything full time, will he try to get on some sub lists? Sean will be graduating this winter with his teaching degree in Elementary Ed and doesn't anticipate getting a job in the middle of the school year so plans to get on some sub lists so he will have some money coming in until "hiring season".

Yay I hope Andy does join you guys for your vacation, that will be fun! :thumbsup2

And yay for your Dismeet, sounds like it was a good time!

Absolutely - Since I am by myself I am a soo flexible. The only commitment I really have is the 5K. Pretty much anything else I would like to do is flexible.
At least a hello, maybe a ride together??

Super!

It looks like you had a wonderful DIS meet. And those gifts bags sound perfect and very generous of you. You were lucky enough to be included in the DIS meet But the boys were even luckier to meet you! :flower3:

It was really fun.

:upsidedow -- Thank you for the kind words.

What a great looking bunch!! Glad you all had a good time!!

It was fun, Mary.

Great pix of the Meet !!! I LOVE:love: my meets with Jen and Yuki !!, Dan of course I see regularly!! Talk to him most days !!
I will definately post pix of Cleveland Zoo and make sure we take some BUTT pix too !!:rotfl2:

I love meeting new people, especially DIS people that I talk to often.

Sounds and looks like a great Dis-meet! Who says we can only have those while we're in the World! :cool1:

You are absolutely right, Queen! And my goal is for us to meet one of these trips.

This is not necessarily the most popular opinion, but I think newer teachers are often better than some of the veterans. New energy and enthusiasm are so important in teaching. :goodvibes

Agree with you Nicki about zoos (we have one close to our house that's terrible and charge some exorbitant price for tickets; ditto our aquarium) and Dismeets!

Your Dismeet looked like so much fun, Kathy! Heck, it was even cool when I got to speak to you on the phone for a minute. We spend a lot of time on here, connecting and sharing, so its so amazing to be able to meet folks for real! :goodvibes

I am so tired of schools telling him he has no experience. HOW can he have experience if NO ONE will hire him.

It was great fun, Tina...and I'm so glad they included me in their plans.

looks like you had a fun lunch with all the boys!

I so need to take Megan to the zoo this summer, we missed it last year! we have two really nice one's within 1 1/2 hours from us! thanks for all the fun photos!

hope Andy decides to go to WDW with you all!

Great little boys....okay, and big boys too.

I hope you and Megan get to the zoo soon.

Andy says he is definitely going if he doesn't getting a teaching job before then.

Looks like you had a great time. And I spied a Flyers shirt!

We did, Kelly! And I couldn't belive Mark wore that shirt since OUR team is the one that beat HIS team for the Stanley Cup. :rotfl2:

Looks like you had a great dismeet. Those kids meals look awesome:thumbsup2

How exciting that Andy might be going to WDW for a few days.

Diane, the kids said the food was really good (or they were just really hungry).

I sure would like Andy to get a little "R&R".

What a wonderful meet. It looks like you had a great lunch and great time

The food was really yummy.

What a fun DISmeet!!!!!! Can't wait to see your pics! :rolleyes1

That's right...you can't see pictures at work. :sad2:

It was fun, MaryEllen.

:yay: for your DISmeet! Looks like a great time.

How funny that Evan couldn't squeeze in 3 more spirals.

And I'm glad to see the Captain rocking his Flyers shirt out there in Chicago. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Glenn. I was shocked when I saw Mark with that shirt on. :lmao::lmao:

Some really great Zoo pictures! I guess I need to come for a visit so you and Mark can show me around the place! I guess we're all getting "conditioned" for our upcoming trips to Disney with this heat! I was hoping maybe it would break some before we go, but it isn't looking that way at all. Looks like lots of afternoon breaks and pool time!!!

Have you ever been to Chicago, Marv?

I'm surprised you would make that mistake Dan, since you get to see the other one each morning in the mirror!!! :rolleyes1

Now boys!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What a great looking group! I know you all had a wonderful time! Aren't fellow DISers the greatest!!! :goodvibes

Fellow DISers are the absolute best!

What a great group shot!! :goodvibes It looks like you all had a wonderful lunch and I have met such great people on the DIS myself!!

Next you guys need to venture to Virginia and come visit me :lmao:

I thought the waiter did a great job with the picture.

Hmmmm....we've never been to Virginia.

Sounds like a great lunch with great company! :)

Thanks, April. It was. :)

It certainly looks and sounds like you had a great Dis Meet! What fun!

Thanks, Lisa -- we really had a good time.

Another fabulous Dis Meet. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Looks like good food and a good time was had by all.

Today Mark is Indianapolis with another DIS dad! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the nice words, Don.

What a fun meet, Kathy! DISmeets are the best! :thumbsup2 You get to meet the nicest people! :goodvibes

Yes they are, Karin. And I've met a bunch of them....and talked to them on the phone.

Sounds like a great meet! How sweet of you to take gifts for everyone! Those little boys are too cute!

Thanks, Jen. I like doing a little something for the kiddos.

Looks like an awesome dismeet!

It really was, Ann.

Welcome to my PTR...delighted to have you here. It will be different to be staying somewhere else -- it will be the first time in ten out of the last eleven years. The reason I chose AKL is we got a great deal on a villa and the fact that I love giraffes and animals and wanted two days to relax before we start the Disney madness. I will certainly give a comparison. But a fair warning to you ahead of time -- we LOVE the CSR and it truly is our home away from home.

What a fun looking meet!! I see poor Dave has been "infected" by the Cubs :sad2: poor kid - some of us can't help it, we are born that way, but I thought they lived far enough away to be immune. :rotfl:

Tanya, actually Evan, Scotty and Dave ALL had Cubs hats on (even Barry had a Cubs shirt and they are from Milwaukee!).

Andy has been subbing for a year now at the high school where he coaches the baseball team (and he has been promoted to the assistant position on the Varsity team!). He is the first one they call when they need a sub. I'm not worried about him not having some kind of income, but a full-time teaching position would be really great.

Yay I hope Andy does join you guys for your vacation, that will be fun! :thumbsup2

And yay for your Dismeet, sounds like it was a good time!

It will be fun to have Andy with us (although I'm still dreading having his brother find out :scared1:).

Fun DISmeet for sure.

Just checking in Kat !! I have to when I can as I am racking up the hours , bnills to pay and Disney on the horizon !!!Dan just hit me with a bunch of hours to cover while a co worker is out for surgery!!!

Are you telling me you need a recap? Yes, I can do that for you right now, I think (items in red are things we have planned with you unless you want to cancel)

Thursday, September 22 -- arrive Florida, stay at LaQuinta on International

Friday, September 23 -- Check in to AKL Kidani Villa; meet Stefy & Dave for
drink at Polynesian; dinner at Raglan Road; drinks with Joe & Sophia

Saturday, September 24 -- Breakfast at Boma, outlet malls, swimming, watch
giraffes, dinner at Earl of Sandwich, swimming with Miss Avery and Miss
Cayley

Sunday, September 25 -- Check in at CSR; breakfast at Crystal Palace at 9:05 a.m. with Miss Avery and Miss Cayley and the rest of their family; do MK until around 1 p.m.; go back to CSR and unpack, swimming and then MK for Extra Magic Hours

Monday, September 26 -- Animal Kingdom for am and then Epcot in afternoon/evening

Tuesday, September 27 -- Epcot for Extra Magic Hours; swimming at CSR; 5:00 p.m. dinner with Miss Avery and Miss Cayley and rest of her family at Captain's Grille; go to MNSSHP and have a great time at party with kiddies

Wednesday, September 28 -- Studios; go to Epcot in early afternoon; dinner with Miss Cayley and Miss Avery at Cape May Cafe and then swim with Miss Cayley and Miss Avery at CSR

Thursday, September 29 -- Breakfast at Boma; spend morning and early afternoon at MK (lunch at Plaza) and then drive to Marco Island

Mary: IF Andy comes, he will fly in on the 27th and get there in time to join all of us for dinner and the party and he will leave with us on the 29th and drive to Marco Island and stay there a day and fly home on Saturday. The ONLY thing that might change is if he wants to stay at Epcot the night of the 28th with his dad, then only I would join you at Cape May. And believe me, he will enjoy being with the girls...he has several "little sweeties" who draw pictures for him at baseball, etc.

I keep meaning to post this and then I forget.

If anyone wants a postcard sent to their child from Mickey or a Princess or whatever while we are there, send me a PM with the child's name and address, and I'll be glad to send a postcard while we are there in September.
