I am sorry the job market is not so good for him right now. I am though excited we will get to meet him!! Will he go to MNSSHP??? Girls will be very excited too!!

Mary, I'm sorry about the job market too...it is so tough for recent college graduates.

Yes, if he goes, he will go to MNSSHP and will join us for our two dinners as long as you don't mind. The girls will have their first crush (if they've not had one already).

I'm sorry Andy's not having better luck on the job market, but also thrilled for you that he's going to get to go with you. Certainly will make for an even more amazing trip. :goodvibes

You really got some great zoo pictures!!!!!! That lion pic is awesome! And the giraffe with the spread legs. Oh - and the gorilla!

Sorry that Andy hasn't found a job yet. He will. But it certainly is a wonderful that he will be visiting the world with you. That's going to be so great. I really look forward to visiting with Nick in December. It's really fun to go with your "big" kids!

Hi Kathy,

believe it or not, but I was able to catch up again. Thankfully I was only 2 pages behind! :goodvibes

Great photos of the zoo! And good Disney practice too! Sorry to hear about your son's job options, but I'll keep my fingers crossed something exciting will come his way.
But on the other hand, how fun will it be if he is able to join you at WDW! :thumbsup2

The zoo looked like so much fun!! the picture of the polar bear with his butt up in the air is sooo funny!! I was just telling DBF that we need to start going for walks to get ready for all the walking in WDW!

YAY for Andy coming on the trip :thumbsup2 Even though it is due to the tough job market out there...I know it is so tough out there these days, hopefully something will come along quick!

My husband works in HR where he is at now (his post-retirement job) and for any potential worker at their office (he hires for sites across the country) he makes sure they are aware that it is an office that "likes to eat". His contribution is keeping the candy jar full :thumbsup2 - others bring in baked goods. :lovestruc
candy jars stink but are so good.

Good recovery, Dan. ;)
i was being sincer...i was trying to trick you.

:thumbsup2

I'm torn as I really want him to find a job and I know what a GREAT teacher he'll be.

Wasn't that lion picture great? We have never had the gorillas close enough (or without a 1000 people in front of us) and I was really happy with that photo.

It will be fun to have Andy with us if he goes (it's still 80% he is, 20% he's not).

It will be nice to have him with us. The last time Andy went with us was his high school graduation in 2000 with his "then girlfriend" -- and because she was there, we split up a lot.

Thanks, Shannon. It's still not definite, but it it looking good. The job market is absolutely horrible. My brother was let go from his job in Janaury of 2010 and between health issues, no vehicle and the job market, he is still unemployed. :sad1:

Well, I will be meeting Barry (FreezinRafki) and his son Evan and Mark (Captain_Oblivious) and his sons Scotty and Dave around 12:45 for lunch. I will post pics tonight (yes, I brought the camera, but forgot the attachment to download the pictures when I got back to work). I'm so excited to meet these great guys and their boys!

We don't mind at all. They have not had a crush on an older man yet :) Now is he the wild and crazy one or is that Markie??

Hope lunch was fun-how could it not be??

Love the practice day trip and the zoo photos! You got some great shots!

I agree with everyone else - I am glad Andy can go but sorry that the job market isn't looking better for him.

Can't wait to hear about today's lunch meet!

Nice zoo photos! The ones of the lion are fantastic!

I haven't been posting but I have been lurking....

Yay for the Bears! Our favorite spot at the Zoo now. Membership is a great deal if you will be there more than twice in a calendar year, considering parking is $12 if you're not a member. We are members and I am there with M at least 2-3 times a month! It seems if I'm not working and we're not at the pool, we're usually at Brookfield. Animals and an almost 3 year old, what can I say...? lol
Now, if only WDW was a close as Brookfield,*sigh*

This weather better give sometime soon, I cringe when I think of what our electric bill is going to be; it feels like the A/C has been running non-stop!
It's funny when 85 degrees feels cool:rotfl:

I'll keep lurking and check in again....eventually.
xo

That zoo looks like so much fun! I almost think I've been there before, when I was younger, but I don't remember it very well. I love the pictures of the lions.

I'm glad Andy is going to be able to join you on the trip. I hope my boys will still want to come with me sometimes when they are grown.

Have fun at the Dis Meet!

Loving the zoo pictures! Jungle Larry's here in Naples has free admission for the locals the first Saturday of the month and I take the kids in the off season but there is no way we would go now, too darn hot

While I am super syked that Andy is coming I am also bummed about the job market....it is just awful no matter where you go but Disney can make you feel better :goodvibes

Have lots of fun! :goodvibes

Thanks, Karin.

Well, then be prepared friend...he may steal both of their hearts. ;)

Thanks; an update on the Meet coming up.

Thanks, April. I was really happy with the lion photos; usually they are off in a corner sleeping and I was really happy to see him awake and front and center.

Hey there, friend...miss you here. The bears were the best; we had gone last year and we missed them because of the flooding at the zoo. We used to take the boys to the zoo several times a year when they were little too.

We're on the budget for our air...but I'm sure it will go up.

I hope you enjoyed your DIS meet!

Pic and details coming up (it was great!).

Thanks, Kate. As much as there are a lot of reasons we are tired of living in Chicago, I will say that we have two terrific zoos.

I would imagine it would be hot at the Zoo there. Didn't you also tell me they didn't have a lot of animals.

I'm hoping Andy can decide 100% soon -- first, the airfare is not bad and two -- you will love him and he will love you. Although he talks a lot so you might not get in a word! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry I didn't call over the weekend; I'll call tomorrow or Wednesday from work.
