SSRmonkey Trip Report

Koala is very excited. They finally make shirts that fit him! I will have to make sure mom doesn't put it in the dryer because it's a little snug, but he is pretty happy.

Today we went to Animal Kingdom. We haven't been there in a couple trips, but we had a great time today. First we went on the safari. We were lucky and saw a ton of animals. It was a bit of a bumpy ride, but no one got sick in the truck.

I saw some gators...

DSC01380.jpg

This giraffe looks like he might tip over.

DSC01392.jpg

I tried my best to start an elephant stampede, but the tour guide yelled at me.

DSC01395.jpg

Koala antagonized this ostrich and he started coming after us.

DSC01409.jpg

After that we headed to get FP for Everest. There were so few people today that the FP were only for an hour later, so we went on the Jungle Trek. We stopped along the way to see Flik from A Bug's Life. What is it with a lot of the characters I meet? They seem to want to shake me. Apparently they don't have kids because I don't think they watched the "Don't Shake Your Baby" video at the hospital.

DSC01411.jpg

I learned some new techniques from the monkeys to make "hanging around" look more natural in photographs. I still need some practice.

DSC01413.jpg

I found an abandoned worksite and played with some cement for a while.

DSC01415.jpg

This reminded me of my evil cat, Chloe, at home.

DSC01417.jpg

Koala wasn't strong enough to pull this rickshaw. Anyone know where I can find a mule?

DSC01418.jpg

A cast member told me that this is the equivalent of Eat N Park in Asia.

DSC01419.jpg

I tried on a new hat.

DSC01420.jpg

We saw lots of big cats and birds on the Jungle Trek. Koala was a little scared and only wanted his picture with this tiger.

DSC01428.jpg

This is what Chloe does when she's sleeping in the sun. She dreams of new ways to terrorize the house.

DSC01431.jpg

Where are the bananas?

DSC01440.jpg

It was time for Everest. We saw the Yedi this time! Correction--Dad and I saw the Yedi this time. Mom and Koala don't really like roller coasters so they had their eyes closed for the whole ride. They don't know what they're missing. Next time dad and I will ride solo.

DSC01450.jpg

We had never been to see Nemo the Musical before and it was awesome! Crush is my favorite, but he moved around too much to get a good picture.

DSC01467.jpg

DSC01478.jpg

After that we were hungry so we decided to head to DTD for a pretzel. It's getting a little windy and the balloon is a little off kilter today, but it was fun to watch while we were eating.

I think we'll relax at SSR for a bit and maybe hit Epcot or MK later tonight. Gotta go, my favorite TV show is on! Jer-ry! Jer-ry! (Don't tell my parents...I'm not allowed to watch Jerry Springer--they won't know though. They're at the pool! :))

What great pictures you got of the Nemo musical! We saw it for the first time in January and thought it was great. I am glad Koala got a new shirt that fits him. Continue having fun!

We had a great dinner at the Turf Club this evening. Dad had a reuben and mom had a caesar salad (as usual). I asked for Kobe beef, but had to settle for grilled cheese. Oh well, it was delicious.

It was a beautiful evening to be at Epcot. We went for a tour around the World Showcase and Dad let me use the camera tonight. I was able to get some good pictures of Koala having lots of fun.

We started in the UK. Tigger and Koala are ready for the great hunny battle...

DSC01497.jpg

Koala and I were going to play cops and robbers but his hat didn't fit and kept falling over his eyes.

DSC01498.jpg

Then he found some kitties. Just like at home except our cats aren't pink...yet. This gives me a great idea.

DSC01500.jpg

Koala got a French history lesson.

DSC01504.jpg

Does "Habibi" translate to camel eating flower? Nope, but I think it would be better if it did. As long as they aren't using camels to promote smoking flowers.

DSC01505.jpg

Relaxing on the magic carpet.

DSC01506.jpg

A nice cast member thought Koala should try on this hat and tried to show him some belly dancing moves.

DSC01508.jpg

Now Koala wants a pointy garden gnome hat. I told him the only pointy hat he's getting is a dunce cap. He got mad, so to make it up to him, I bought him a big pretzel in Germany.

DSC01509.jpg

Did you get your tickets? Your tickets to the gun show. Koala's been working out, but was to embarrased to show off his "guns".

DSC01515.jpg

Lucky for us, Koala is a great farmer. He's great at helping plant pumpkins at home. Not so good at harvesting though...he needs to keep working out.

DSC01516.jpg

Wasn't it nice for the American Pavilion to make us our own poster? Abe's eyes right over my head are a little creepy, but I'll take what I can get.

DSC01518.jpg

A nice view of Spaceship Earth.

DSC01519.jpg

Stopping to smell the flowers in Italy.

DSC01521.jpg

Koala wished that he could stay in the World Showcase forever, but I convinced him to ride Test Track with us.

DSC01534.jpg

It took about an hour to get through the line because it broke down, but it was worth the wait. I love riding Test Track in the dark.

When we got out of TT it was almost 9, but rather than watching the fireworks we decided to try to hop on Soarin. We walked right on!

All in all it was a great day and I'm looking forward to more shenanigans tomorrow!

I can't believe how wonderful the weather is today! It's about 80 degrees and sunny. A perfect day for a foot dangle in the pool--that's as far as I'm allowed to go. Otherwise I tend to go a little nuts and end up getting us kicked out for the rest of our trip. Can you say cannonball?

We went to MK this morning for a bit. Koala wanted to ride Pirates so he could show off his new shirt. We walked right on! Then we headed for another trip on the Thunder Mountain Railroad. We walked right on to that too. It seems to go faster in the dark, but it was still fun. Then we went to Haunted Mansion. Koala suggested that they get some Swiffers and clean that place up a bit, but I don't think they will take his advice.

Then it was time for Philharmagic. We walked right into that too. I never got my own pair of 3D glasses before. It's so much cooler in 3D!!

DSC01542.jpg

Koala was inspired and started playing the trumpet in the gift shop. It was really loud!

DSC01543.jpg

Then we had a nice visit with the Fairy Godmother.

DSC01544.jpg

When we get home, Koala is going to try to grow pumpkins shaped like Mickey!

DSC01546.jpg

I did some monkeyin around in Mickey's Garage.

DSC01547.jpg

After some swashbuckling we headed to the monorail and rode to the Grand Floridian. It was pretty, but I like SSR better.

We ate some lunch and now are going to head to the pool. Who knows what we'll get into this evening!

Nice to see you again SSRmonkey! My motto is NEVER, NEVER, EVER shop at Wal Mart, EVER. Peopleofwalmart.com doesn't lie! ;)

Looking forward to your next installment.

LOL. I'm a walmart refugee. I work there part time for a couple of Christmas seasons. I'm still in therapy.
Great trip report monkey

Wow! You'd think that on a day that was 80 degrees, the pool would be warm. Not the case. I stuck my big toe in and screamed like a little girl. Then I was really embarrased so I ran away. Luckily there are no lifeguards to yell at me not to run.

After mom and dad did a little bit of laundry (it's so nice that it's free) we headed to Beaches and Cream for a burger. Koala and I were convinced we could eat a Kitchen Sink, but after 4 of them left the kitchen we realized our eyes were a little bigger than our stomachs so I settled for a Mickey Mouse sundae instead. (Plus, Koala left the barf bags in the car so we didn't have a backup plan in case the Kitchen Sink didn't agree with us.)

We walked to Epcot and got in another round of Figment and Soarin. Mom and dad stopped to have their picture taken with Pooh and Tigger. Then we headed to Test Track again.

After standing in line for 10 minutes or so they announced testing was suspended momentarily due to technical difficulties...just like the other day. After about another 20 minutes they announced they weren't able to fix the problem so they asked everyone to leave the building. It seems as though they are having non-accelleration problems. Maybe Disney should change it from a General Motors sponsorship to a Toyota sponsorship. That would certainly fix the accelleration issues... Plus, they could make the cars a Prius and be more eco-friendly too.

We decided that since we struck out with TT it was time to head back to SSR for the night.

Not sure what we'll be up to tomorrow since it's supposed to rain. I think we're going to try to fit in Toy Story Mania and the Muppets in the morning and then we'll see what the weather is like.

Stay tuned!

SSRMonkey- tell Koala he looks very handsome in his new shirt. And of course you are just as cute as ever. Have fun at Disney Studios!!

SSR Monkey - Our cat Chloe wants to know who is minding your cat Chloe while you are living it up at SSR.

JaxDisneyFans--My Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma are taking care of the Devilcat (Chloe) and our other cat, Boots. We tried leaving them with an automatic feeder, but the evil one isn't good at sharing with Boots.

It was a rainy morning here, but it seems to be holding off for now. I hear that the weather tomorrow is going to be bad so we tried to fit in one last Toy Story Mania ride today. Even with the rain, there were a ton of people there at rope drop and I think most of them headed right to TSM. We got FP though and then headed to the Muppets. We don't see the Muppets on every trip because Koala loves Fozzie and everytime he sees Muppet Vision all we hear for hours are bad jokes and "wocka wocka wocka." Today his joke is- "What do dogs listen to when they are training for the Ididarod? Their i-did-a-pod! Wocka wocka wocka." I turned him into the sherrif being a public nuisance.

DSC01330.jpg

We wandered through some stores and headed back to TSM. Koala was close to his all time record until his foot slipped off the seat. Lucky for me, I won. I have no idea how that banana peel ended up right under Koala's foot. :)

DSC01329.jpg

We ate some lunch and I think mom and dad are headed off property for a bit. Koala and I are going to stay at SSR to decide our escape route if a tornado should hit tomorrow. From our porch we have a great view of these tubes that go under the road. I think if we tie some bed sheets together to form a makeshift ladder we can get down to the road, swim across the lake (avoiding alligators, of course) and make it to the tubes. Clearly that would be safer than staying inside, right?

We'll just hang out on the porch and keep thinking..

DSC01550.jpg

Really Enjoying the TR. Got my youngest DS totally into your report also. He wanted to hear you scream like a girl! Keep it up!

Is that another new shirt Koala is sporting? Looking good little guy!!

JaxDisneyFans -

I wondered if that was a new shirt for Koala too. You both are looking sharp. It is nice that you are able to keep Koala in line SSRMonkey. He sounds like he is a real handful! :goodvibes

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day...just not tomorrow. It sure was rainy today. Luckily Koala and I didn't have to use our escape plan today. I hope we don't have to tomorrow either because we didn't come up with anything better than the road tubes.

Mom and dad had a nice afternoon of window shopping in the rain. They went to the Olive Garden for dinner. Apparently it was French day there. Their waiter, Oliver, was very nice, but it was like talking to Jean Gerard from Talladega Nights. Oliver didn't offer a macchiato or crepes, though. Too bad, I love crepes. After all, they are just really thin pancakes.

Koala and I got hungry so we ordered a pizza.

DSC01564.jpg

I found some Diet Coke and the caffeine made me a little hyper. I made sure the room was cleaned up before they got back.

DSC01563.jpg

Mom and dad got back and did another load of laundry and when the rain stopped they hopped in the pool since the heater was back on. It started to rain again so they came back in time to watch my second favorite TV show...The Office. Dwight is hilarious!

It stopped raining again so we headed out for a walk. Koala found a frog and wanted to take it home, but mom said no. He decided to get a closer look.

DSC01567.jpg

I found this strange statue.

DSC01573.jpg

Then I tried to figure out where to go next.

DSC01580.jpg

I found a nice spot. A bonus--it makes me look like a conehead. And a little yellow...

DSC01590.jpg

I was tired then so dad gave me a ride back.

DSC01594.jpg

I'm sad that tomorrow is our last day, so hopefully it won't rain. I really want to ride TT one more time and go to MK one more time. I better get some sleep!

It was a day filled with rain, rain, more rain and then lots of fun. We slept in a little today and tried to wait out the rain. No such luck. We decided to head to the Florida Mall to wander around for a while because it was supposed to stop raining in the afternoon. That place is huge! Koala got some new duds to help him with his gardening.

DSC01597.jpg

After window shopping for a while we found it wasn't raining anymore so we thought we should head back to Disney.

Of course, by the time we started back it was raining again. Mom wanted to get some oranges so we went to Citrus World. On the way back to Disney Dad saw a sign for Horse World and decided that it was a good day to do a drive by and check it out. Let me be clear...I do NOT like horses and hay makes me very itchy. I was not pleased. Thankfully Horse World was more like Pony Corral and we got out of there in a jiffy.

It was still raining, but we thought, forget it, we'll just get wet. So we went to MK. Because the weather was so crappy today there was hardly anyone in the park. We got to go on some stuff that we hadn't been on before. First things first, though, we hit Pirates again and then headed to Splash Mountain. I was never on that before and I was pretty scared, but it was a lot of fun. I don't think we will ride again though unless we are already wet.

Then we went to Thunder Mountain Railroad. That wasn't a lot of fun in the rain. We slid all over the place. It was time for some dinner and then I got to ride Dumbo for the first time. Dad got mad because all I wanted to do was fly high. He doesn't like heights so much, but by the time he took control of the elephant, the ride was over.

It was time for some Buzz Lightyear. Mom should not be allowed to go on that. She stinks! Her score tonight was something like 8000...Koala got 194,000 and he can't aim and push the button at the same time.

The Laugh Floor was really great tonight. Most of the humans were "wrapped in plastic for freshness" according to the monsters.

We watched the Spectromagic parade and then headed to Epcot for EMH.

Test Track was working tonight (it was a miracle!) and we walked right on. After another round of Figment, Soarin and Nemo, a very nice couple gave us FP for TT. We walked right on and then decided it was probably time to head to SSR.

We got one last rice krispie treat for me and my new friend to share. I'm going to try to get all the sprinkles off first and then I'll share. I buy sprinkles by the pound at home and eat them with everything. I've been deprived of them all week!

DSC01598.jpg

We have to leave very early in the morning tomorrow and I am sad to go home, but I do miss the cats. I think we're going to try to come back for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. I'm going to start on my costume as soon as I get home!

I'm looking forward to my next adventures with Koala!

Wonderful Trip Report!!! Thanks SSRmonkey. Love Koala's new duds. Have a safe trip back home.
