Just curious....
Why did DVC decide to go 52 years on the contracts at SSR and only 40 yrs on the ownership at the other properties.
Is the price per point that much higher at SSR?

SSR contracts will end on Dec. 31, 2054 - those owners who purchase now will actually get just under 50 years of use since the resort won't open until May, 2004.

All other resort contracts end on Jan. 31, 2042. Those who purchased OKW when it opened in October, 1991 actually got a little over 50 years. All other DVC resorts (VB,HH,BWV,VWL and VWL) also have the Jan. 31, 2042 end date and never had a full 50 years.

I expect that the next resort built will also have the 2054 expiration- even if it opens in 2006.

The expiration is just the way the program was established.
