I have been looking at recent pictures of SSR including all the breathtaking landscaping and I now have the opinion that a lot of the criticism of SSR was criticism of the unfinished product.

The addition of the Turf Club restaurant answered one of the criticisms as well.

No, I do not own at SSR. I own at OKW, VWL, VB, and HH. But I now, for the first time, might consider a fifty point add on!

Congrats to all you SSR owners!

:thanks:

We love it!

I just think it's evidence to society in general that people feel the need to do the "Mine is better than yours" thing.

Constructive criticism/comments/opinions are always welcome but the bashing does get rather old.

Thanks!

We don't own at SSR and we think 500 points is enough. But we like to stay at SSR. It IS beautiful.

We don't own at SSR either but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a one bedroom villa shortly after the resort opened. We especially enjoyed the quiet pool overlooking DTD which I believe is the most elegant pool at WDW. We believe SSR is a great resort and recent changes make it even better.

One thing I'm certain of...SSR bashers will come and go but SSR is here to stay.

I think things are about to settle down as far as all the SSR talk, I also beleive its a beautifull resort, and will make many owners very happy, like myself. :yay:

:thumbsup2 I loved this pool. After a loooong day and a hot night, it was so relaxing and refreshing to swim in this pool overlooking DTD.

Is the Turf Club open yet?Can I see amenu soemwhere? Maybe I'll check the restaurants board.

BTW-I am not an SSR owner, but a DVC member who has never stayed at her home resort yet!

We still want to try all the DVC's but if all we end up with is SSR thats fine as well .

It's such a great place and when it gets done will only be even better.

We own at OKW, but we will be staying at SSR this October.
Can hardly wat to see SSR. I have been reading good things about it, too.

Cut it out people! You all know it is a trashed resort not worth visiting :stir:

{btw, I own at SSR, and my 4 teens will not stay anywhere else...but don't let the bashers know that :rolleyes1 }

Darn, now everyone is going to know that the stories about SSR's unsuitability for the DVC family are highly exaggerated.....

We have had several wonderful trips home to SSR, and it just keeps getting better and better...I mean, being able to walk to get my daily Ghirardelli fix.. :cloud9: We're looking forward to our next trip, checking out the newest changes, and maybe finally trying out the spa services.

I just hope 'you-know-who' doesn't see this thread ;)

Oh, I'm sure a picture of the hallways will be making its way to this thread before too long... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We do not own at SSR, but we have stayed there during it's first year, and had a very nice time. We intend to bring our family there next month to pool hop and for them to give it a look, because, if they want to come next year again, it would be the resort I would want to book.

Bobbi :goodvibes

Thanks for the beautiful comments about SSR. We own there and I can't wait to go next year for our first trip home as DVC members.

We walked around the property and had lunch at Artist's Palette when we were there in April and we thought the place was very pretty and had a relaxing feel to it.

I was there last week and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so relaxing and being so close to DTD was a treat for us since we never really go there!

And the Spa.....ahhhh. I sure do wish I was there now instead of being here at work! :rotfl:

It's so nice to hear almost all positive messages! We'll be going "home" to SSR for the first time (have owned BW since '98; added on SSR, but haven't stayed there yet). To us, there really isn't a BAD DVC................it's DISNEY!!!

That sounds just like what we did. We purchased late in '99 at the BW sight unseen and just recently added SSR. This was our first time there and we really loved it. Now the only problem is where to stay next time! :rotfl:

We love SSR also. We bought it sight unseen and really don't mind if we have to stay there for the next 50 years!!

It has truly become home to us.

We stayed at SSR for the first time in March and really loved it. It's a beautiful resort and we used the walkway to DTD every day. :)
