I just booked a four night stay in a studio at SSR for DH and I over Memorial Day weekend. A getaway for just the two of us! I can't wait! We plan on taking things slow and actually getting in some leisure time - non-park time.

We have never stayed at SSR. Can anyone point me to a map where it actually lists the specific areas? (Like Springs, Granstand, Congress Park etc?) I would like to at least make a room request, but have no idea where to start.

Would anyone care to make recommendations about a room request? I was thinking it would be nice to have a balcony that overlooks DTD - the lights being nice at night. Can you even make a request such as "water view?"

Any help at all would be so appreciated. DH and I get to spend so little time together anymore - I really want to make this a great getaway. Thanks so much!

You would want to request Congress Park Downtown Disney view since all Congress park rooms don't actually face DTD. Enjoy your adults only trip!

Here is the map of SSR.

You would want a Congress Park DTD view. You can request that when you make your ressies or call MS anytime and add it to your ressie. Mention it again when you check.

Other options would be the Grandstand. The golf course views are very nice & there is a bar at the pool :thumbsup2

I did my last two all adult trips at Grandstand and LOVED it. The pool is much quieter than the main pool. Yes, there are kids, but not as many and they don't do the afternoon DJ parties. We loved coming back from the parks and heading out for a drink and a swim. It's quiet enough to sit and read, or have a chat without having to scream over the DJ or the kids.

Stay further away from the main pool and closer to the satellite pools. The satellite pools are much quieter (at lot less kids), which is something we appreciate with our adults-only SSR vacations.

We don't mind kids, but we don't have to be surrounded by hundreds of them at High Rock for the length of an entire trip.

We stayed in Congress Park with the DTD view (from our bed we could see the lights of Cirque) and it was wonderful. We looked out onto the pool but rarely saw more than a few people. It was also nice to be close to the walkway that took us to DTD for dinner each night. We requested that area and had no trouble getting it in January,

Hey, we'll be there sans kids over Memorial Day too! Our 10 anniversary is the 29th and we're going for 6 nights. We requested a DTD view since we haven't stayed in that section yet. DH and I can't wait! :cool1:

Adults only trips are the best! Resort-hop, enjoy cocktails at those resort lounges or pool bars, see a movie, enjoy the High Tea at GF, get spa treatments at the amazing spa at SSR, walk to DTD, play some golf, enjoy the pool(and pool bar!), people-watch.....OH, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy!

I'd request Grandstand. You can get a golf course view, close to quiet pool with outside bar, short walk to main building but far enough away for piece & quiet.

DH & are will hopefully be there this Sun. We'ver never been there either and requested CP. Everyone says it's a beautiful resort. Our favorite is BCV, but we're walked through SSR and it is very pretty. The walk to DDT is great.

I would definately request Congress Park with DTD view. It is such a short walk to DTD from there- I love that area. We stayed near there (Paddocks, closest building to CP) on an adults only trip and loved it. We walked to DTD everyday and used the DTD bus hub to explore other resorts.

Another vote for Congress Park here! We stayed there in January and we just loved it. We were in room 2230. It was a second floor, end unit, so it was very quiet. We had a view of DTD and a bit of the garden area in front of our balcony. We were in the middle building (I think), so we did see the side of the building next door since we were on the end, but it did not detract from the view. There is a nice quiet pool and hot tub that face the lake & DTD, so you have a nice view even from the hot tub! :thumbsup2 It was also a quick walk to DTD - or a nice little stroll if you prefer. :) Anywhere you pick, I think that you will enjoy it. The grounds of the whole resort are lovely.

I just want to say have a great time. We love SSR.... anywhere and the suggestions so far are all good. A spa treatment may be in order.....:)

My DH and I stayed in Congress Park for our adult's only trip last year. We liked being able to walk to DTD for the shops and eats......
