I made ressies for our May trip at SSR yesterday and told the CM we wanted the area closest to the hospitality house and restaurants. When I got my email confirmation she had noted 'lower floor' instead of near hospitality house. Obviously I need to call back and have that changed but what area should I specifically request? I got the feeling the CM wasn't real familiar with all the DVC resorts. Please help. Thanks.

If you're looking to be close to the main lobby and surrounding area, then you're looking for a room in "The Springs" (Rooms 3101-4436)...but if you're open to other areas at SSR, I have always enjoyed "Congress Park" (Rooms 1101-2836). It isn't very far from The Springs and you could get a very nice view of Downtown Disney across the lake.

Just double checked and if you should decide for Congress Park, try for a room in 2501-2836. That building is closest to The Springs, the lobby, restaurants and such.

Requesting Congress Park does not automatically get you a "room with a view". I found that out the hard way. Make sure to add, "with a view of DTD". :thumbsup2

We actually like the Grandstand. We found it to be close to the main building and they have their own pool. It's also the first bus stop, if that is important to you. We requested a golf course view which we got and really enjoyed!

We're going for our first trip here in Nov. Gonna be in a studio. Does anyone know a specific room to request for Congress Park that has a good view of DTD?

We stayed in the Springs in April this year. We loved it. Close to everything, including the DTD bus dock and Turf Club.

Only complaint that I had heard about the Springs is that it is the last bus stop and can sometimes end up with full buses. We had our own vehicle, but did ride the buses a number of times (even for rope drop) and didn't have a problem.

Springs will be our request next time. SSR was wonderful!

Well, it's like this. Building 16..rooms 1645 and 1745 use to have fantastic views until the trees grew. Granted; these are 1 BR and you asked about a studio. But there are trees all over!! :rotfl2: And the thing that had me a little peeved the last time I stayed there wasn't the fact that there are beautiful evergreen trees now in front of all windows and the balcony, but the front desk still books this as a "DTD View". You can't see squat anymore...not even the quite pool. :rotfl:

Maybe someone else can help you but that's the only building I know in Congress Park and yes; I'm a glutten for punishment and will request room 1745 knowing I won't see a thing. But I like the rooms location and the closeness to the quiet pool. And....if I want to go to the Carriage House it's just a 5 minute walk. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Treehouse Villas and would get off at the Grandstand for that reason. We were able to get to the Treehouses quicker than if we got off at THe Springs.

Curious to see what may have changed with the new pool and people's opinions. I have stayed in Congress and the Springs and would choose the Springs for convenience to the pool and main building over a quick walk to DTD.

We stayed at the Paddock and our room overlooked the new pool complex. It was also just steps to the bus stop. The walk to the Springs was straight across the bridge about 5 min. We would definitely request this area again. Our building had rooms starting with 5400. We only went to the Springs twice in 5 days we had almost everything we needed at the Paddock.
