SSR Web Vacation Offer

We just returned from Disney and we purchased into Sarasota Springs. We like it very much and I particulary like the relaxed and peacefull atmosphere.

This morning I saw on the DVC Saratoga Springs web page that Disney is offering a free Disney vacation by joining DVC.

The vacation offer wasn't mentioned at our preview. Anyone know the details on the free vacation offer and has anyone received it along with the incentive offered at the preview at SSR?

I got that as an Add On to my current DVC membership...hopefully someone else will know if it is for new members too.

I got a postcard from Disney with this free vacation offer on it. I think if you buy DVC they just give you extra points to use and these constitute the "free vacation". I'm not sure if I received the postcard because I asked for an information kit on DVC or because I have the Disney Visa card. Hope this answers your question.

The "free vacation" was the 100 developer points that they were offering that would expire in Dec 2005. If you did not want the points, the other option was $8 off per point ($95 down to $87 per point). We chose the latter option, and I am assuming that that was the incentive that you chose as well.

The option should have been yours, 100 bonus points or the $8 off per point.

Thanks for the comments and the welcome home. Stitch 626, that's exactly what we got, $8 off per point. The vacation offer wasn't mentioned as alternative, but we would not have chosen it anyway if it was an either-or situation.

We're very excited to have joined DVC, although my wife is really excited about this for her and our 5 year old daughter.

I have been looking into DVC. I was told by our Sales CM that you can either take the $1200 incentive, or get a free week at SSR. I don't know if I understood him correctly, but I think that is what he was conveying.

Here are the current incentives for joining as I understand it.

1. $1200 off your initial points, or 1 week at SSR for free.
2. No closing costs
3. No maintenance and taxes for 2005

I believe you've got this just about correct, the only thing I want to point out is if you pick the ''free vacation'', I believe those are developers points and they are to be used at DVC resorts OTHER than @SSR. At least that's how it was explained to be when I bought in December. I took the $1500 off deal that they were offering.

It looks like the offer is 100 free developer points into your current use year. It seems these can be banked as well.
