SSR/WDW: Access to computer w/internet & printer?

Now that we're in the 30's countdown-wise, it's amazing the things that occur to me.

Since we now live in Phoenix, we fly SWA to MCO (EIEIO!); you can go online to print out your boarding pass. While at SSR, is there anywhere we can get access to a computer and printer with internet access to do this before our flight home? A business center? Somewhere at DTD? And if so, any idea what the cost is?

Thanks much!

I am not sure about SSR but there is a business center at CSR that you can use.

DrTomorrow, funny you should ask as I was just thinking the same thing -- but we fly SWA from Baltimore. If SSR does not have Internet access and a printer, I will be sending comments requesting the same. I have a feeling we'll have to go to a resort with a business center -- not sure that we'll do that this trip though.

We took the laptop along to do this then faxed the boarding passes to the front desk, no charge for DVC members. It would be nice to leave it at home though.

Hmmmmm. It's been suggested to me that there's a Kinko's nearby; if it's 24/7, we can get those "A" boarding passes at 12:01 AM!

I have just returned from BWV and used the Kinko's about 100Yds to the left of the Crossroads shopping area.
I was very annoyed to find that the last remaining ATT internet phone at the Caribbean Beach was removed .
Now the only people who can use the internet in Disney are those that bring their own portable or are prepared to pay £10 for fifteen minutes at the business centres.

We used the computers at the business center at Boardwalk (in the Convention Center) just last week to print out our boarding passes. I realize this isn't a real convenient location for you, but it is an option. We were staying at BWV so it was handy for us. We have also used the Business Center at The Contemporary Resort to print boarding passes when we stayed at VWL. I think the hours are something like 8am to 5pm. And it has been our experience that they do not charge you (not for the access or the printing) if you are printing boarding passes for your flight home.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the help! We've got a car, so we could probably just stop by BWV on our way. And if we're still awake the night before, Kinko's will do the job.

We were at SSR the beginning of Oct and I asked at the front desk about printing boarding passes for SW and the female CM told me I would have to go to a convention center. I wasn't sure if my dh wanted to do that but he said he would, I then went back to the front desk and asked where the easiest convention center was, meaning the one I could get in and out of quickly and the male CM told me that they could do it right there. He very nicely printed both boarding passes for us. The other CM overheard our conversation and said she did not know they were able to do that. Also when we were at the BCV in Feb the front desk CM did it for us.

Now that is a good idea. I think we'll leave the laptop home this time, but for longer stays I think we'll want it. And now I have a way to print boarding passes easily, Thx M&M!

When we stayed at SSR last July, DH and I went to the front desk around midnight of the day we were leaving. We asked if they would print our boarding passes. The CM said that he did not know how, BUT another CM did - but that the other cm was unavailable at the moment. He took down our confirmations #s, and told us that we would have it done as soon as the other CM was not busy. He then told us that he would deliver the boarding passes to our room overnight. Both DH and myself thought that this was too good to be true, and both of us doubted that it would really happen. We resigned ourselves to the fact that we would just have to take our chances at MCO. When we woke up that morning, an envelope was hanging on the doorknob - our express checkout statement and our boarding passes. Not sure if they are still doing this, or maybe we were just lucky or very "pathetic-looking."

Don't forget to get there 3 hours early so you can stand in a queue with all of the other A types. :cool2:

We flew southwest for the first time back in September. The A queue was, by far, the longest queue we stood in though waiting for the Great Movie ride came close. :p

Good luck getting those A passes. We'll stick to our comfy car for future trips. :D

just one caveat....

if you check closely

Faxed copies of Boarding Passes will not be accepted and must be reprinted prior to boarding the aircraft.

so you will have to have them reprinted if they are faxed copies.....but you will not lose your "selection" and the boarding pass will have a R next to the number when it is reprinted at the airport

thanks for mentioning the Kinkos close to the crossroads....last time we were there we used the kinkos on orange blossom trail ( a lil bit of a drive )

this time we will use the one you mentioned since we are staying on palm parkway ....will only be about 5 minutes to get there...

Well, after decades of being stuck in Detroit with Northworst as our only real choice - expensive, rarely on-time and with a terrible frequent flyer program - we moved to Phoenix and we're in love with SWA. Cheap flights, usually on-time (or early) and we get to pick who we sit next to (or don't sit next to). And I'm surprised; we've flown 4 or 5 times since we moved (Detroit, Orlando, Portland, Las Vegas) and we've never seen the "A" line start forming more than a half-hour or so before boarding starts. It doesn't even matter where in the "A" line you are, you're going to get the seat-type you want - as a 6'4" guy, the aisle is a big deal on a longer flight.

Thanks again to all of you - from being clueless (no smart remarks, please) to having 3 or 4 options, the DIS DVC team comes through again. I'll be asking at the SSR desk when we check in to see if they can handle it for us.

PS Joe - given a half-hour in line and a four hour flight, or a 31-hour drive from The Valley of the Sun to the Happiest Place in Florida: I'll take the flight, peanuts and all. ;)

We were at SSR for Charlie. The day of check out a nice CM at the front desk printed our SW boarding passes for us right at the desk. We got A's.

lawgs,

I did not have any trouble using my boarding passes at the airport. I used my efax account through my email if I remember right it looked the same as the one printed from home. Maybe I was lucky and they didn't notice.

The reason the A line gets so desperate leaving Orlando is because nearly half the plane is in pre-board with small children half the time......

The last time we flew, we pre-boarded with our infant nephew.
(It takes us longer to put stuff overhead and settle in)

But some people who pre-boarded spread out all over and were reserving prime front "ROWS" of seats for other people.

I know I might get flamed.....

BUT that is not fair IMHO.......

(I sit in the front of the plane (or forward of the wing) not for its convienence but because I do not get sick or queasy there.)

I really wish SWA would go to assigned seats

My dh flew from MCI to STL every weekend this summer with a faxed boarding pass.. he was never questioned.. If I had known I would not have faxed them to him. I guess I never read the fine print!

It looks like we're unexpectedly going to be back in the SWA rat race again for the first time in several years, since before online check-in. I read the page, and found this...

"If any of the following items apply, your reservation does not qualify for Online Checkin:

More than one person is traveling under your confirmation number. "

So does that mean that DW and I cannot use online checkin, because we're flying together? Sounds like that would make most folks ineli... ineleg... inelig... aw, not qualify.

Peter Johnson

all you should have to do is call SWA and ask them to separate your reservation into two individual ones....

others have posted they were successful doing this....

one caveat, if you booked online and they redo it , you "might" lose the online booking bonus of .5 RR credits
