SSR & walk to West Side

We'll (hopefully) be in the Congress park area of SSR, but plan to go to Cirque one evening. We're trying to decide the best way to get there. Can anyone clue us in on how far the walk is from CP across the bridge behind the main check-in building? If we take the boat, does it go to DTD before it goes to the West Side?

We walked from Congress Park to West Side through Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney and back to Congress Park one morning. It was a nice walk to West Side. You take the path behind the resort (this is the club house for golf) and go across the bridge. The path looks like it has lights along it. It was fun to see all of this early morning without any people.

The walk from CP to West Side is nothing to sneeze at, though we had no problem walking it one morning last fall. Altogether, you are probably looking at a little over a mile - about 20-25 minutes at a comfortable stroll.

You still may save time over the boat because at this point, the ferry only goes to Marketplace. You actually have to switch ferries to get to PI and West Side. I liked it better when the ferry went from SSR to West Side to Marketplace, but maybe that's just me.

Take the bus to the main area and then cut through artist pallette. Then it is a very nice walk from there. It is very well lit at night and very pleasant. Enjoy, it will be faster than switching boats.

We walked it with my dh and 3 kids, it wasn't that bad, maybe 15-20 minutes. If your not in the Congress Park section I would take the bus, we were in Congress Park so it made the walk shorter. SSR is huge!

the walk is not long - walked back and forth a couple of times to the movie theatre - it is much, much quicker to walk than to wait for that bus.

think it would have been 15 minutes - but hey you got to stop...

don't walk the longer walk across the bridge (close to OKW) - this path is not lite enough to help.

the path from CP to DTD is well lite.
