Hi everyone! We have 164 points to use before Aug. 1st. We won't be going to the parks; we just want to chill and hang out at the pool, etc. So for us, we are trying to figure out the best pool options for us. My kids really wanted to go to GFV, but it looks like only the DVC pool will be open. Since I'm not sure what pool availability will be like, I'm worried that it might not be the best choice. For SSR and BLT it looks like all the pools are opened so perhaps that's a better option? What are your thoughts?

I believe SSR would be best choice and also you have all the dining of Disney Springs within walking distance. If you can get a newly refurbished preferred room that would be great.

Good reasoning, although we really like the pool at the Paddocks. But leaning toward this for sure.

SSR for sure if no parks.
They have great pools and walk to Springs for some action.
Also can walk to OKW for Olivia’s (hidden gem)

VGF is our children's fave, followed by BWV. The pools and grounds at VGF are lovely and I'm sure they'll be open but the killer for me would be the lack of food options. Normally, great for dining (3 sigs) only Grand Floridian Café, the pool bar, Gasparilla's QS are open. SSR is not great for dining choices but a preferred near DS would be the best of both worlds especially if you can get a refurbed room.

I would expect limitations on pool capacity, this might not work at all as you have planned. I would not be picking a resort based on the pool right now.

If I were picking based on pool, it would be VGF which has a tiny fraction of the points compared to these resorts. However, it could be overrun with cash guests and have no space either.

Having never stayed at any of the 3, and just based on my research on the resorts, I would say it's a toss-up between VGF and SSR, slight edge to SSR. The plus with VGF is that you kind of get 2 resorts in 1 with being able to walk to Poly, but with SSR you get to walk to DS. DS is probably a safer bet than Poly given we know there are so many dining options available at DS.

VGF is so lovely. We have enjoyed staying there. When I looked up available amenities, it said “pool,” and the other resorts said “pools,” so I’m thinking only the dvc one will be open. I don’t know what it will be like to try and get a spot at the pool.

That’s the worst of it, is it’s hard to plan because I don’t know how it will work or what to expect at all! It’s just one big guessing game right now.

We are trying to go the week of the 22nd (when no one knows what’s going on), or the third or fourth week in July. We live in Florida so we are more flexible and can drive.

Is the Spa open? The golf should be but you can also golf from SSR. Is one allowed to go to Poly? That would add great food options (Kona and Capt. Cooks I think) and a change of scene. I love their Gift Shop also.
