I know they were pushing June when the incentive started but I believe I also heard reports of buyers getting August and September.

For recent buyers, what use year did you get and were you able to bank 2005 points?

We had our tour and purchased the middle of December. We were given an August use year. With the incentive we got the 2005 points and have to choose whether to bank them or not by our closing date (Feb 15th). I think we are going to bank them as we just returned in December and probably won't go again until after August.

same here August use year and have banked out 150 points I guess its nice to start out with a cushion

We've got a deal in the works... just ironing out how many points we want to buy. Our sales rep is trying to sell an August use year for SSR, but he sounded pretty flexible about it if we really needed another month. HTH! :sunny:

Forgot to add... The sales rep said that we could bank all of the 2005 points, and that these would be available to us as soon as the paperwork goes through. The official deadline for banking 100% of the points would be January 31 for an August use year, however, sales guy says they relax the time limits a little for new DVCers... ?

I am too lazy to search for this, but when is SSR expected to be sold out????

Does anyone know how much SSR is selling for right now? We're thinking about doing an add-on, but don't want 120. We were thinking more in the line of 50.

I just bought 250 points at SSR in Jan for YU August. I got last year's points and banked them for next year.
When I financed, the 15% discount was added as a downpayment, so basically it appears like I put down 30%. I suppose that is what they do with those of us who finance.

I believe it is 90 per point. The only way to get the 83.30 per point is with the minimum 120 point add on.

It is at 98 but one of our incentives would bring it down to 90 per point if we decided to buy in 3 days. Well shortly before our 3 day lapse the 15% off came so we took that.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious how soon they start assessing your dues. Is the first year pro-rated or anything?? (We're buying at SSR in January, too.)

Thanks!

Yes dues are pro-rated. For 2005 our dues were pro-rated for 68 days. I think it is when you have turned in your contract and it meets approval or whatnot.

We closed the day after Thanksgiving so that is less than 68 days but did receive financing approval at the end of October which would be around the 68 days left in the year mark.

You pay Dues for every miniute you own points, so if they backdate your points they backdate your dues. Be prepaired. and if you can't afford to have the dues backdated dues go for a current date.

We bought at SSR for the $83.30 in mid December and got August UY. We were also able to bank our points. We were told are dues for 2005 would be proranted to December. :earsboy:

That is not true. Our points go back to June, but our dues start mid-November, the day we signed the paperwork. And we don't actually start paying them until March.

Dues run on a calendar year basis so depending on the month you actually purchase DVC they will be prorated. We added on with a Feb UY in Dec and only paid 2 weeks of dues for 2005, and were able to bank all of the 2005 points.

Then I'm mistaken. but We closed in Oct. and our points started in Feb and we had to pay much higher Dues to get caught up.

Did you buy resale? Maybe that's why?
