We are leaving in 2 weeks.... I have a feeling this could be the trip that makes us buy DVC. We have never stayed DVC and I am so looking forward to staying in a 2 bedroom with space for my little guys (2,4)...

I just want to know why you love SSR!

We stayed at SSR last September and really enjoyed it. We liked SSR because the pool was large but easier to see the entire area and keep an eye on little people. Also, they have a very nice shallow area and water playground. The food at SSR is good too. Generally I cook since we have the kitchen available; however, we had sandwiches by the pool at SSR and they were excellent. The proximity to Downtown Disney is nice. We just walked over, althought it may be a long walk with a 2 year old and 4 year old.

Hope that helps -- good luck with your decision to buy. :thumbsup2

SSR is a georgeous place to call "Home". The relaxing atmosphere gives in to actually allowing you to relax and let you and your family enjoy your time together. The pools (both leisure and theme) are beautiful. There's many activities for your lil guys to enjoy if you choose to take some timeaway from the parks. The villas are wonderfully warm and inviting. The Artist's Pallette gives you the option of eating there or having foods items delivered to your room or purchased there and taken back to enjoy later. "On the Rocks"pool bar lets you enjoy a delightful libation , while your lil ones cool off so can you!
The Turf Club has a pool table and soon will be a resturant. Access to DTD is a minimal walk after a long day at the parks and the strolls over there are genuinely nice at dusk to let the boys go visit LEGOLAND and get a happy meal at MceeDee's if you so choose~ Then head home while viewing the colorful neon lights reflecting in the Lake between SSR and DTD. Then Mom, after tucking the lil guys away can enjoy a soak in the whirlpool to gather your thoughts for the next day. Buses run frequently, no worries there. There are carriage rides for those dusk afternoons to let you, DH and the boys enjoy the views while clippity clop goes along~ Arcade by the pool gives a nice refresher to fun with the boys, but there will be time for you to get the best out of your vacation at SSR as well~ There isn't enough wonderful aspects of SSR I can tell you, but I think once you experience it for yourselves you'll be sold. W/D in the villa is a biggie for us mothers as well!~
Less packing and more time to have a magical time as well~
And all the WILDLIFE... bunnies, turtles, frogs, geicos, ducks The BOYS will love them all. They are the best Cast Members DIsney ahs to offer lil ones!

HAVE A WONDERFUL JOURNEY and GOOD LUCK~

This could take a while if I had to mention everything I like about SSR. You can take everyone's opinion at face value. You really do have to see it for yourself. SSR takes alot of abuse on these boards. But personally i can't wait to go back home.

We love Saratoga Springs Resort :thumbsup2 . Been there twice and probably going again in September. We have 2 girls (3 and 5) who love the place..they get as excited about staying there as going to Disney itself. Though I'd definitely request the Springs area..very close to everything.

I do wish though they had the OKW room size..we've stayed there also and those are very nice. But Saratoga's main pool is perfect for small children (zero-entry, kids slide) which OKW doesn't have and in our opinion is the best on property for our kids ages. When we stayed at OKW we kept pool-hopping over to SSR.

I don't know, but I can't wait to go! I'll let you know when I get back!!!

We love SSR. We are empty-nesters, except when we take our kids and gradkids to WDW. SSR has something for everyone. The pool is wonderful for little ones as well as big ones. We love the big slide, but our DGD loved the small slide. The Donald Duck play area by the pool was a hit also. The play grounds around the quiet pools are great and she also enjoyed the activities at the Community Hall. We like the food at Artist's Pallette, but I know several people complain about the variety. It is not your typical WDW food, so if you don't like it, it is a short walk (especially from Congress Park) to DTD where you can enjoy any type of food you want. The Springs area is closest to the main pool and AP, but we really enjoyed the Congress Park area also. We have never had trouble with the buses, but we always make it an adventure, so the Grandkids don't get bored. After you put your kids to bed, SSR is wonderful to just sit out on the balcony and enjoy the quietness. It can be relaxing if you want that (we love it) at the end of a hard day of parks. Our only regret in buying SSR is that we didn't buy into DVC earlier. We have tried several of the resorts, and really, they are all great! Enjoy your visit and hope we can say WELCOME HOME soon.

Thank you so much for the replies. I have been reading the boards and know SSR takes a beating. That doesn't scare me in the least. Everyone has different tastes. Your post make me very excited to stay there!

I have definately requested the Spring location but Congress Park interests me too. I would love to have a view of DTD. The only area I really want to avoid is the Paddocks.

Another thing that scares me a bit is we are not renting a car this trip. Our past trips we have always rented a car and/or been at a monorail resort. Since our children are a little older we only need 1 stroller so we are going with the buses this time... I may regret this decision.

All I keep thinking to myself.... King Bed, Jacuzzi Tub, Full Kitchen (not that we need it for much, I don't cook on vacation but it's nice to have), seperate living area after kids are in bed and most important seperate bedroom for my mother!! All on Disney property without breaking my bank!! :cloud9: I hope all of these out weigh being on the monorail...

OH and Mcdonalds in DTD for my picky eater! :thumbsup2

We just stayed at SSR in March and really loved it!
We had a room in Congress Park with a great view of Fulton's Crab House, and it was close to the walking path to DTD, which we used alot.
The resort itself is gorgeous. I would recommend renting bikes and just riding around for a few hours.
I had shiatsu done at the spa, it was wonderful. The spa was nice and clean and the staff was outstanding.
Enjoy your trip!

What they said!
Plus, how can you go wrong being within walking distance of Ghiradelli's ice cream sundaes and chocolates, or DQ with the Cheesecake Factory inside?
