Well we're down to less than two weeks before our first trip "home" as DVC members. Since we've always stayed in the resorts and never the DVC homes, we have some questions (we are staying in a studio at SSR):

1) Are there coffee makers in the studios? How many cups? Do they provide coffee? if not, what size/shape filters do we need?

2) Do they provied all the normal stuff hotels provide like shampoo, bar soap, conditioner, lotion, etc etc? If not, which things do we need to bring along?

3) At the resort you can buy the length of stay soft drink mugs. Do they have those are the DVC properties?

I'm sure there may be more later

Thanks all! :cool1:

Yes there are coffee makers in the room. You will need to request real coffee mugs and glasses from housekeeping though. I bring down the Maxwell House Coffee Filter packs. We use 2 packs per pot of coffee.

Yes they do provide the shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and soap. However, it is only one bottle of each for you stay. You can purchse additional if you want.

Yes you can purchse the length of stay mugs.

You also have use of a refergerator that is a pretty decent size. We always stop for some milk, snacks, and breakfast items on the way.

Enjoy your stay.

Just a caution about the length of stay mugs at SSR. Because the resort is very spread-out and the mugs actually don't hold that much, you may decide its not worth the effort after a few treks for refills.

If you spend any length of time at all at the High Rock Springs pool or at the Grandstand pool, the mugs are great to have. Both of these pools have mug refill stations. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the replies! Having never been there we don't know which section is which. I can find the High Rock Springs on the map, but where is the "Grandstand" section?

Thanks again

I was just wondering if there are any walkways to Downtown Disney from SS? I thought that maybe the golf cart bridge could be used (or any other)?

The grandstand section has its own pool/pool bar and is also the first on first off bus stop. It is a bit of a distance from the "main area" but the walk is nice...
There is a walkway to downtown disney...but I don't remember which section it is near hopefully another poster will have that answer

There is also a walkway to the West Side near the Carriage House and Grandstand section. It is near the walkway to the boat landing area and may be the path across the bridge for the golf course.

The nearest store is Goodings in the Crossroads shopping plaza - It is also the most expensive. If you turn left at the intersection of Hotel Plaza Blvd and SSR 535 there is a Winn Dixie about 1/2-3/4 mile down on the right. There is also an ABC liquor store in the same plaza. If you turn right there is a Walmart about 4 miles straight down the road on the right. There is a Publix behind the Premier outlet mall. That is reached by turning right onto 535 from Hotel Plaza Blvd and then taking the first left after you go under route 4.

if we dont rent a car,
have you utilized a taxi service?
none of these are probably walking distance?
