SSR studios?

The studio are just like any other studio. We like to stay in the Springs location because the first bus stop in the resort is right there so you always have a chance to get a seat. The springs are located across from the main pool which means you are also close to everything at the front of the resort. Since you will be in a studio and not have a washer and dryer in your studio, you will be located across the street from the very large laundry room. Makes is so nice to run across the street throw in a load of laundry. Even though you are close to everything it is still quiet. I am a light sleeper and I had no issues.

They are much like the studios at MOST of the other DVC's excluding OKW.

The non-OKW studios are smaller. One queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. Small kitchenette. Much smaller bathroom than the OKW studios. The sink is outside the room with the toilet/tub.

I agree... every time my daughter and I have stayed at SSR, it has been at the Springs. The location is great... especially with kiddos!

Wrong the springs is the LAST stop, less likely to get a seat. though we think the springs is the best location.

The Grandstand is the first bus stop and the Springs is the last. We stayed in a Studio at SSR in May and the view left a little to be desired (looked at the waterway, but couldn't see anything past the overgrown trees that blocked the view)..

Although it is farther back (1/2 mile to the main building and pool), the two times we have stayed at SSR we requested Congress Park facing DTD. It was just a short walk over the DTD, there was a quiet pool and the view looking at DTD was great.

I agree with MinnieLee, we love the Congress Park section. However, not all views there are DTD views which we found out the hard way. So request it if that makes a difference. :thumbsup2

I was surprised that no one has posted a photo of a studio at SSR. Here's a link to the DVCNews.com website. Where you can scroll down and see photos and the floorplan of an SSR studio. http://www.dvcnews.com/index.php/resorts/saratoga-springs/maps-a-photos

And here is a You Tube video from 2009 showing their SSR studio. It's very well done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLkiNuYS_CY I don't know if the rooms have been remodeled and given the flat screen TVs as yet. But I would expect on their next remodel that will be a change.

Just got back on the 22nd from a stay in a studio at SSR - we were at The Springs and found it very convenient. Right across the road from the main pool, near a bus stop (never had a problem getting a seat getting on the bus and we generally left the resort at least twice per day). Even with all of this stuff close by we found it nice and quiet in the evenings - ran into a few rabbits, frogs and turtles coming back from late night hours on the grounds too!

We are going in October, really hope we can get Springs. We have 2 small children , Springs sounds like the right spot for us! I haven't found it useful to pre request any particular area before - Do the resorts generally honour these type of location requests? The only time we asked for something specific (high floor / quiet room) at GF we were given a 1st floor room by an elevator!
