We have a studio booked at SSR next month. I have requested The Paddock but happy to change to same category for a room with a view.

I will not be going to the parks with the rest of my family so would like to be able to sit out and have a nice view. All previous visits we have had a tree view :(

Any recommendations please?

Thank you

Sounds like you’ve booked a Standard neighborhood, meaning Paddock, Grandstand or Carousel. You could ask for “water view” and still be in Paddock, looking over the lake that all the Paddock buildings surround. Or you could ask for a “golf course view” but would have to change to Grandstand for that.

Last month we were in Carousel and had a “tree view” onto a nice park like area. We liked it because it was so peaceful, but if you want to see human activity then a golf course view might suit you better.

Unfortunately DVC put trees around the buildings. There really are not to many rooms that do not have trees outside the balcony. We have stayed in studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms there from 1st floor to 4th floor and all have had trees blocking at least some of the view.

No category will give you better chances at a view at Saratoga, due to how the resort lays out and is booked. Booking is location, not view.

Getting hyperspecific can be a risk, but building 8 (if it still is numbered?) has some lovely stuff. The 23 rooms (4523, 4623, 4723) are especially nice, but 01, 47, 36 all in that building are all fine. Only one of the studio stacks in that building is a little meh. Buildings 11 and 12 also have nice views, with a slightly higher chance of parking lot in the view.

The buildings aren't numbered anymore, sadly. When we were there last month, the signs at the entrances to the neighborhoods gave the range of room numbers there, and separate signs in front of each building gave the range of room numbers in the building, but there were no building numbers displayed anywhere that I could see. The current map of SSR just shows the range of room numbers for each building, too. When we stayed there a year ago, June 2021, I am fairly certain the buildings were numbered by the first two digits of the lowest room number (e.g. we were in building number 45, rooms 4501-4836, and we were in room 4714), but that's no longer the case.

Makes it much more difficult to request a certain building or to recommend that someone request a certain building!

Ugh.

Assuming the room numbers are okay, the units I rattled off in what used to be building 8 are safe bets.
4501

4547

Honestly, though, a lot of the studios in Paddock have at least minimally decent views.

We just stayed in the Congress Park section. This was the view from room 1232.

Yes, next time we stay at SSR I plan to book Preferred so I can ask for Congress Park and a view of DS. Unfortunately, it seems that OP has booked Standard, so Congress Park is not an option.
Thank you but it is just a standard room we have booked.

Yes, years ago, I had a farther Grandstand room and thought it was a great view composition of the near-building landscaping, golf course, river (with the boats going to OKW and POR) followed by the trees beyond the river.

But I do prefer an upper floor, Disney Springs view from Congress Park.
