How is the food at SSR? Any room service or pizza delivery available?

We had Giordano's Chicago style pizza delivered to SSR 12/04. Their phone number is 407-239-8900, the also have a website www.giordanosflorida.com. It was great pizza.

I don't think room service is available at SSR, but someone who is more knowledgeable than I will confirm.

We had papa johns delivered and there was no room service when we were there in Dec.

No room service here! Also no food is served poolside. Also Artists Pallette has an extremely limited menu and the food is so so. Breakfast was pretty good. The store onsite is a joke also with very little convenience items. Plan to shop elsewhere. I really don't know what they were thinking here. Do they want people dripping wet going into AP for food from the pool. Poor planning all the way around. Some how DTD being so close made " the planners" think people would just walk or boat over there. Expect a condo like experience at SSR not a full service experience like you get at BWV. You will have little or no contact with staff here. The resort is just so spread out. It seems like a village layout. They really blew it on this one IMHO. Their have been rumors about full service restaurant being added. Also they will likely expand the menu at AP. This should help some. People advice about Pizza delivery is good advice.

There is no room service at SSR. You can get pizza delivered as some of the above posters have said. We ate at AP and thought our food was just fine. We really enjoyed being close to DTD so we could walk over and get a nice variety of food. We love Earl of Sandwich. Good food and relatively good pricing. We love SSR. It is no more spread out than OKW and we enjoyed the feeling of being alone and not bothered with staff and other vacationers. It is our home, and we are so glad it is. Our kids joined while we were there in January and they have a 3 year old and she didn't mind the walk to DTD at all. Gave her a chance to run off some of her energy and be outdoors. I guess everyone looks for different things in a resort and it is a good thing that Disney realizes this and builds different themed resorts.

Can't wait for our trip in September. Hope the hurricanes stay away! :mickeybar

We used Pizza Hut and they had free delivery. Took about 35 - 40 minutes.

pizza delivery sounds good - do they deliver right to your room or to the entrance of the resort ????

Right to your door

Giordano's delivered right to our door. We plan on ordering from them again in Oct.

Be sure and grab some of those tourist discount books that are usually all over Orlando. Giordano's had several $2 off coupons in those freebie books.

When we stayed at SSR in OCT '04, we were a little disapointed with the food offering. While the food at AP was tasty, there wasn't much of a selection. According to the bartender, the new resturant is going to be nice. There definintly needs to be another resturant or two to handle all the members. DTD is close but not convienent to get to, especially with kids. I would also like to see some food offered at poolside. Nothing fancy just some burgers, dogs, nachos and such. Hopefully this will be coming soon!!!
