SSR room request - first DVC visit

This will be our first visit as owners, and we have a SSR/BLT split stay in June. We have a standard room at SSR. We would like to be as close as possible to the walkway to DS - we strongly prefer walking to any other form of transportation. Since this isn’t a choice on the online checkin form, how do I make this request? Should I ask for a specific section or building, or just close to walkway? Thanks!

Anything else I should consider? We don’t care what floor, and don’t mind a walk to the bus stop as long as it isn’t miles. We do have little boys (6 and 3) and have a pool day planned - is one much better than the others? We will be breakfasting at Olivia’s that day, and plan to walk there as well if that’s a factor. Thanks!

I can’t ask for preferred, as I reserved a standard studio several months ago. We again don’t mind walking at all - enjoy it actually - but not sure what if any requests to make. Thanks!

You will be closest to DS if you are in the Paddock, in the buildings closest to the Congress Park bus stop --that would be building 6501-6836...that building is just across the road from the Congress Park bus stop which in turn is just a short walk across the way to the pool to the walking path to DS/Marketplace...there is a crosswalk, but it's a bit out of the way so I generally just watch carefully for traffic and then use the road to get across...you may not want to do that w/two little ones ... but it's not a long walk either way...enjoy

If you have a standard room, then the Paddock area is your best bet to walk to Disney Springs. A walk to Olivia’s in OKW will be a long walk. If I had to guess would be well over 30 minutes. There is no direct way to get there

Thanks! That’s what I was thinking from the map. What’s the best way to make a request like that as a member? Through member services? Should I put Paddock in on online check-in too, or choose the Congress Park option?

I’ll see if I can look up the distance to Olivia’s. I dislike QS, and wanted a sit-down breakfast on our lazy day. If it’s going to be a hassle to get there I’ll just cancel it. In my mind I thought there was a path - am I wrong?

There isn't really a path from SSR, just from Disney Springs. It's about a mile long to South Point from DS. Then about another ten minutes to Olivia's.

I would definitely go Paddock area too.
