SSR Questions

Hi everyone,

I called for my information pack last Wednesday, so I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I've already talked my wife into it, so the hard part is now done. I do have a couple of questions about SSR, so if anyone has any answers for me I'd appreciate it.

1) For anyone who maybe visited the Disney Institute, is the area fairly quiet? Being across from DD and fairly close to some of the major roads around Disney, I was a little concerned as to the noise level outside. All I'm hoping for is to be able to sit around the pool and not hear much more than the kids playing in the water. Is it possible?

2) I heard that the first few buildings are actually the buildings of the Disney Institute just redone. Is this true, and if so do you think it will affect the quality of the rooms?

3) I also heard rumors of the monorail being extended to SSR or DD, anyone know any more on this subject?

4) Here's one that isn't related to SSR but to the use year. Being new to the whole thing, I haven't totally sat down and figured all the ins and outs of the point use system. Because of this I'm going to ask you all for some help. My wife is a teacher and we would probably be visiting Disney sometime between February vacation and the first couple of weeks in June. If given a choice, what would be the best use year for us given those criteria?

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

1. Sound engineers and special building materials were used to help minimize the impact of noise from DD. You probably don't need to worry about the pool area since it's set back from the water a bit. The first 4 resort buildings are close to the water. If those ever present a problem for you, buildings 5-12 are being built much further away from the water.

2. That is not true. The registration building is being remodeled from the Disney Institute, but all of the guestrooms are brand new construction.

3. The public offering statement discloses that Disney has the right to run the monorail through the resort, but don't count on it happening.

4. A February Use Year would be ideal, but I'm not certain they are currently selling that year. March has been reported as being available, and that should be pretty good for you. You will just have to be careful with any February trips that you book. If you have to cancel a February trip on short notice, you would risk losing those points since you will likely be past any banking deadlines.

I agree with tjraz. On item 4- right now they are selling March UY. I am currently waiting for my packet as well and my guide, Julie, said March was the UY that's available right now. It'll probably work out pretty well for you unles, like tjkraz said, you have to cancel a February trip.
