We arrived at OKW last night at 10:45PM. Check-in was fast and easy and we did get our requests (N/S- Upper Floor). We are in Building 28. Great room, clean, refurbished and quiet- with a golf course view.

This morning (wearing the hard hat and orange safety vest I always carry on vacation ;) - along with a shovel to lean on) I was able to infiltrate the small army of construction workers on site at SSR.

I was able to update my SSR photos taken in May and add some close-ups of the progress on the new SSR Pool. You can click on any image for a larger view. A lot of progress has occurred since May. I'll add some more photos later this week of the site from across the lake.

They are also working hard on the SSR Marina. A HCA ramp is almost completed now.

The new photos are towards the bottom of the page. If you have any questions, please ask!

Enjoy!

WOW! Thanx, Doc. Those are some great spy photographs!
I can't wait until October when I can see the site for myself. Until then, keep the contraband coming! :teeth:

Thanks for the update Doc......... Since you got your requests, did you book at 11, 7 months, or less?

Thanks for the update Doc!I'll be down there in two weeks, don't forget to leave the hard hat and shovel behind the bush, behind building 28 for me.:teeth:;)

THanks for the pics. We left OKW Wednesday, so we just missed you! I was amazed at how close SSR was to DTD! I expected to see some green space between, but is right in the DTD backyard!

I think one of the characters on "Alias" is based on you, Doc. ;)

Thanks for the great pictures. You really take us all "home" and let us watch as we grow.

Looks great Doc. I guess you can write off these trips as professional research expenses!!

SSR looks like it will definately not disappoint. It seems to have an OKW feel to it? Is that so, or is it an atmosphere exclusive to SSR?

Somehow I can picture you travelling with an orange vest and hard hat! Great pics Doc - thanks for the update!

Thanks for the great photos! It is interesting to see how things are constructed. I probably should have been in construction, probably didn't get to play with blocks when I was a small child.
We'll be down in 6 weeks, it will be interesting to see the progress.

Ummmm - the hard hat and vest might make an interesting Halloween costume! May I borrow it?

This trip was booked in mid November - about 9 months ahead- but the requests were pretty basic and easy to meet. I would have expected to get those requests at most any time.

I guess I could do that if I was in construction or photography, but I don't think I'll chance trying to defend the write-off! ;)

I don't see it as an OKW atmosphere. It seems to have a feel all to itself. The location is really nice. Close to DD. The parking will be similar to OKW, but even that is a bit different. Interior hallways are the same as BWV, VWL and BCV. The detached residential buildings and check-in/restaurant area is similar to OKW and the proximity to the golf course and Spa is unique to SSR alone.

It's really looking great. The progress since May is impressive- both in the residential buildings and especially in the ancillary construction. I'm anxious to try to get a reservation for next year!

There is a lot of prep work going on where the next buildings will be constructed (#5-12). It looks as though they are going ahead full steam with the current plan.

Stay Tuned!

Thanks for the photos. Really interesting to see how the slide looks while being built.

Thanks so much for taking the time to get these shots to share. All of us who have bought at SSR love to see the progress. Its kind of like building your own house. . . you always take pics of the construction phase, its just that this is a really BIG house!

Thanks Doc! The pics were great, makes me want to add on points for SSR and we just bought at BCV.;)

I just added some more photos taken this morning from the lake side of the resort.

It's interesting to see the various stages of completion by looking at Buildings 1-4. These will open 1 month apart beginning next May. Buildings 5-12 are scheduled to start opening about 5 months after building 4 at 1 month intervals.

Enjoy!
