We are a bigger family of 6 and I am considering staying in a 2 bedroom villa for our trip in May instead of 2 regular rooms elsewhere. Both OKW and SSR are 30% off during our travel times and I think the 2 bedroom would be a great fit for us. Does anyone have one resort they prefer over the other?
They both look like huge resorts. Both seem to have nice pools judging from the photos and the same sort of transportation travel times with multiple stops, right? Can you walk to DTD from both? Just can't decide which one to choose. Oh we have 4 youngish kids (4-10) if that helps with the decision. Thanks.

The OKW two bedroom is very large. You'd have plenty of room. Bus service is great. SSR has three themed pools now, but OKW only has one. SSR has smaller rooms, but for your family, they would be good.

We like both OKW and SSR.

Both also have boat service to DTD. SSR is close enough that you can walk, but OKW is a bit further and the path isn't lit at night.

When you say 30% off I assume you are getting directly from Disney? Have you considered renting points from a DVC member? It would be more than 30% off.

I think Deb summed up the resorts nicely. They are both lovely. I will give the edge to SSR due to the pools which I think the kids would really like. Also, it may just be me, but many of OKW's buildings do not have elevators and the last thing I feel like doing after a long day at a theme park is hiking up stairs. Our last OKW stay we were on the 3rd floor for 10 days. The stairs got old quickly. Also, for a May trip, you could check into point rental but at this late date might be hard to come by. Have a geat trip.

Thank you. I hadn't thought of point rental. Maybe I will try that on our next trip. Thanks for the info about the 2 resorts. Sounds like they both have a lot going for them.

Has anyone here stayed at POR? Do you feel a 2 bedroom villa is worth a $1000 upgrade over POR? Just curious. Thanks.

The full kitchen and washer and dryer in the unit would be a great benefit...save on meals...restful for mom and dad to have a living room to RELAX on their vaca too!!! PRICELESS.

I guess you are talking about two rooms at POR since you are too large with all four of your kids at least three or older to fit in a POR room, even with the trundle/fold-down bed. It would be a whole lot more convenient, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to plunk down another $1000 to stay. I love OKW, but I'm also cheap.
