SSR or BWV

We are about to book our first trip as DVC members. I can't decide whether to book a 2 bedroom at SSR or at BWV. My DS wants to stay "at the one with the clown pool" and my daughter with the "Donald fountain". I would love our first trip to be at our home resort, SSR, but would love being so close to EPCOT and MGM at BWV. I am so excited to go and I am sure we will love either place as we have always stayed at the All Star Resorts in the past. Any advice would be so appreciated.

Keep everyone happy, split your stay. First half at BWV and the second half at SSR!

I think we are all "prejudiced" towards recommending our own home resorts--after all that's why most of us chose them as "home".

If you're like me you won't want to move but I do have one possible suggestion to make both kids happy if you're willing--make ressies for half the time at SSR and the other half at BWV. That way everyone gets what he or she wants, at least part of the time! Just be aware that you may have not as much luck getting a 2 BR at BWV since you need to wait till the 7 month window, as compared to SSR which should be easier for you to get since it's your home resort and you can book it 11 months in advance. So you're taking a chance in not getting exactly what you want at BWV (although you can be wait-listed and MS will call you if something opens up). If you're going a busy time of the year this is definitely something to consider.

They're both great so you can't go wrong. Have the kids flip a coin and let the winner chose the resort for THIS time. You have lots and lots of trips to look forward to, so you can stay at the other resort next time.

Unless you are going during a holiday week, you can "pool hop" over to the pool at the other resort. Maybe that will make the "coin toss loser" feel a little better.

Thank you for the help. We are going Jan 9 to the 14 (for my Birthday). Maybe I will book today for SSR so we know we have the reservation and try to call Monday and get a 2 bedroom at BWV. Is this o.k. to do? If there is an opening for a 2 bedroom at BWV it was meant to be, if not we will stay at SSR and get to stay at our home resort. We can't lose!
