SSR now $90/pt direct?

OOH bad math....mine. I think I was figuring in the free 200 pts from 2009 somehow. Sorry about that. This is the reason I don't do our taxes or balance the checkbook. Please wait while I get my foot out of my mouth.

That's still nice that you got it at the new $90/pt price. :thumbsup2

And now some people don't have to worry about getting more points at a $70 price! ;)

Sometimes being clueless can make one much happier:) But I do like the moniker you've chosen!

We added on while there two weeks ago, but I knew nothing about going to a presentation and get 100.00 gift card... I will be so depressed :scared1:

Just talked to a guide two days ago and it was $90/pt. I did not buy because I like the resale prices. She called and wishe me luck today. I am pretty sure she would have said something if there was a promo. She did tell me that because it was sold out there were no closing costs.

$90 per point is very good for Disney direct. My disney rep began explaining everything that he could throw in with going with him and I explained to him that I could only afford 100 pts through disney, I realized I got closing cost paid and last years points but, I would rather be able to afford 60 more pts (for 45 yrs) than get all the incentives that is rewarded to me for here and now.

SSR - $60/pt

Yep, so true! We had been told by Disney that getting BWV points directly from them would be $115, so I was THRILLED when I found a 50-point contract at $87/point. Then, I realized we were paying a good $10/point or more than the rest of the world for resales and I wasn't quite as thrilled anymore! But, at least we learned what we were doing before our next resale purchases were made. Thank goodness for Disboards!!!

I feel the same way. We were extremely close to buying direct from Disney, but went the resale route. I still think our 66/pt is a fair price, but knowing sales are going at mid-50's now stings a little bit. I even did my research, but it looks like I'm buying right as the floor is getting dropped on SSR.

WOW...mid 50's....I thought I had gotten rock bottom. And this is passing through ROFR?

:cool1: I was thrilled to get AKV for $93 pp last June.

WOW HERE!......Don't go bad mouthing.......... I mean bad"mathing"yourself just yet. Let's do the math here.........The bottom line here is : we are looking for the price it cost per point. Ok you forked out $ 18,000 minus let say $2000.00 for the "free" 2009 -200pts.that = $16000.00 now. Lets say the closing cost is $500.00 if you would of had to pay, that = $15500.00, now div. / that by the amount of points you purchased.[200].......that comes out to $ 77.50 per pt. you paid. The"out the door price". WELCOME HOME.

we closed on SSR 200 pts at 65 per pt last month. Even thought prices may (or may not) be hovering around mid 50s, it seems to me I would have only saved $2000 or so after all is said and done. Compared to buying direct from Disney, I'm still pretty happy. I have 2 trips already planned this year and for the most part, got the christmas dates I wanted by paying a higher price and closing early. I would have LOVED to pay mid 50s, but am still happy w/my purchase. The drop in price has only made me look for an add-on :rotfl: Since I'm hoping to keep the DVC for as long as they'll let me, I'm also hoping that the extra $2000 I paid will sting less when I'm 85 years old

We joined because SSR was the only one available at the time and we didn't really research resell :-)

DVCnews is reporting that the pricing of SSR is now $90/pt - the same as the recent pricing of OKW.

Trying to clear out inventory prior to the sales for Aulani or just difficulties in selling 3 onsite resorts at one time? Considering how many people have reported joining with the OKW pricing it'll be interesting to see if the same happens with SSR sales.

Thinking about doing a 50pt add-on at SSR while the cost is $90pp. Talked to my guide a few min. ago and she confirmed that prices will go back up to $95pp on 7/1. I am wondering if there will be any promotions released at that time on SSR making that $95 cheaper then the current $90. Haven't done an add-on in awhile so wasn't sure if SSR has even had any promotions lately. Any feedback? No interest in going resale..love Disney financing and it works well for us. TIA! :goodvibes

Well I have a cruise offer-- free 3 day cruise with a minimum 160 pt purchase. But my guide said I can't take advantage of the offer since its now $90 per pt. He said if I wanted to take advantage of the cruise offer, I had to pay the $110 per pt for SSR.

Ridiculous. I have the offer. It says free 3 day cruise with 160pt purchase....nothing about the price.

thanks for the info..we are def only doing a 50 pt add-on so that really limits us to promotions..usually only a "dollars off" one. I was just curious if SSR would be more then $5 off pp when it goes up on 7/1 and on "sale" again at that time??

Hi, don't have an answer to your question but if you don't mind i'm curious on the 50 pt. add on... is there a closing cost? are you financing thru disney? how much is it monthly? Also, do you know if this $90/pt is only for add on price or can a new member avail of this price also? Thanks!

Are you going to check on the cruise offer? I have the same offer but our guide didn't mention it either, maybe because we got some discounts, but I'm curious about it too.

Geez...I don't think I will be much help to you! I don't even know about the closing costs..how sad is that? This is would be our 3rd add-on too! I know I have to put 10% down so either it is worked into that or into the loan. I believe the $90 is the "add-on" price but please don't quote me. You can check out dvcnews.com for the latest rates. We finance through Disney with their preferred interest rate and the payment was going to be around $55/month and dues around $18/month. Hope that's right...I can't find my notes now!

I meant to add that I got that cruise offer too but mine expires on 6/30!
