We are checking in this week to an SSR non preferred view room. I had requested near Paddock pool high floor. But I just found out that the Paddock pool is closed until later this month. Any suggestions on what I should change my request to and why? Thank so much!

I have never been to the Paddock Pool- but always request Paddock when we stay non-preferred. I like the proximity to the Congress Park area and short walk to Disney Springs. I feel like it’s the most centrally located of the standard rooms.

Paddock near pool would still be some of the closest standard rooms to the other feature pool. I’m not sure I’d change anything.

We stayed in the Grandstand in the building closest to the pool (8501-8836). We had 1 bedroom #8614. It was an incredibly short walk to the Carriage House, the first bus stop heading to the theme parks, and super close to the pool. Bonus points that the Saratoga pools have drink refill stations so I could grab a fresh beverage on my way in and out. Great location.

We stayed standard near the Paddock pool and loved it! I actually preferred the Paddock pool over the main one because I could order food for my kids and still watch them when they were in the pool (the food counter is right next to the pool).

This is our favorite too!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom GrandStand 8500 building. It was a great location. The walk was short to the lobby/food, and we had our own pool with snacks and refill station right next to us. We loved it.

The Grandstand is the first stop to the theme parks? That's important to me (use an ECV). Can someone please tell me the order after that?

Grandstand -> Carousel -> Paddock -> Congress Park -> Springs. It's reverse for Disney Springs.

The Disney Springs route is Congress Park -> Springs -> Grandstand -> Carousel -> Paddock.

Good to know.

I've always seen it listed as Springs being first. Also, the one and only time we ever have taken it to DS from SSR we got on at Springs and it made a second stop at Springs prior to heading to DS (with a stop at CP before Springs).

ETA: I was obviously wrong that it was in reverse. From thinking back when we were on it in March of '21 it was:
Springs -> Grandstand -> Carousel -> Paddock -> Congress Park -> Springs again -> Disney Springs.

I would like to request this building in grandstand section for my son and fiancé when they visit in august. What’s the best way to do it? Via online check in (not sure if SSR online check in offers this level of detail) or member services? We just got back from a BLT stay and requested high floor from member services and didn’t get it. Our room was fine but we didn’t get a high floor. Thx in advance 😊
