We are interested in checking out SSR on our upcoming trip. Is the model/sales center in the BWV? Does anyone know what hours they are open? Do you have to make an appt with your sales guide beforehand or can you just walk in? TIA

yes it is still in BWV - they said they move it spring or summer of next year.

no appointment - just walk in tell them you want to see the models and that you are a member - you only need your guide if you think you might like to buy.

oh I got a pin!!!

When we were ther ein October I think the hours were 10-6. If you want DVC to pick you up for the tour you will need to amke an appointment. I would imagine you could probably walk in but I would make an appointment anyway.

One word of caution, Disney may place a limit on the length of any promotion if you take the tour. I have heard that they will only give you 3 days after the tour to make a decision to buy.

3 days after the tour to buy at a special financing rate was the promotion we had. Yours might be different. It wasnt that was the only window to buy in, just a promotional financing rate. Others may have different stories

Someone jump in if you think I'm wrong.

I believe that if you speak to a guide on the phone regarding SSR, and request that info be sent via the mail, they cannot hold you to the 3 day promotional period being enforced during the tours.

We handled our purchase entirely via the phone. The initial materials that I was sent very clearly stated that the promotional pricing was set to expire on 10/31/03. We took 3-4 weeks to make a decision and had no trouble getting the discount.

My impression was that they are required by law to disclose all of the details on the pricing and the duration of the promotions being offered. When taking a model tour, I assume they would simply distribute different materials which limit the discounts to only 3 days.

If it were me, I would call my guide first and request materials on SSR. Discuss the discount openly and inquire as to whether you will be held to any decision-making time limits after taking a tour. The worst that could happen is that they confirm you can only get the discount for 3 days after the tour.
