Hi
I’m waiting on ROFR but I think my deal was too low so Disney will buy it back.
I’m on day 26 today. It’s a 300 point contact February use year but no points till 26, seller agreed $78pp. I’m so sure Disney will take it but everyone keeps telling me Disney aren’t buying SSR. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Check the ROFR Thread and the DVC Stats website. Good luck. All information is user provided so its a snapshot but not the entire picture.

read the ROFR threads? If you do and see what they buy back you will see they dont just buy back "good deals". At the end of the day the overall buyback rate is like 3%

You'll likely be fine. I just did SSR at $88pp, with double points for the current year. It passed. $78 with no points seems fine.

Also, I don't think it's price so much as contract location. Someone can correct me if they know more, but I suspect that DVD buys back points for certain units so that it's easier to slice them up in different ways. I believe that direct contracts are tied to one unit. So if the average SSR studio has around 5,500 points, if DVD ROFRs multiple contracts in that unit over time, it can then chop them up to 50, 100, 150, 1000, etc. chunks for direct sales. I think it's harder to do this if the points are spread out over the whole property. And I don't mean to say DVD is targeting just one unit. It probably has 50 for which it would like to buy back points. Which, I think, explains why some times DVD buys back overpriced resale contracts.

One never knows why DVd chooses to take a contract. Your contract is in the lower range but it still could pass!

I wouldn’t give it a second thought in this case. It’s been years since the last time someone reported SSR taken. If you look back through all the old RoFR threads, you’ll notice DVC already started changing tactics back in 2019, the same year the new RIV style resale restrictions started. Before that there was steady activity across all the resorts. After that it was much more targeted and limited to a few certain resorts each season. This change was already underway before covid hit.

The last time SSR was taken with any vigor was all the way back in summer 2019.

As above, 78 double stripped will likely pass. If it were a double loaded 78 that might be pretty tempting for Disney..
