Hi everyone. We've got a five day February trip booked at SSR, one bedroom. I was going to request Congress Park (I've stayed there twice and like that you can walk to DD), but now I'm thinking Grand Stand might be nice too. It will be me, dh and two teen boys. We'll have a car.

Can anyone tell me about it? Are most rooms overlooking the golf course? I see there is a pool there. Is it similar to the quiet pool at CP?

Any info or pics would be appreciated. :)

I know the 2 far buildings overlook the golf course (beautiful view!!! if you o not mind walking an extra block or so)
Although some "closer" rooms overlook the pool.
The pool is not "quiet" as it contains a kid water play area and has a pool bar (when the bar is open you can refil your mugs, but the bar was never open before noon and was always closed by the time we got back from the parks..)
You still wind up being as close to AP as the "more central" springs (Because AP is behind the pool)
If you are willing to give up a little walking convience to some ammenities for some added beauty (views) and being the first bus stop, then go for it!

I wish they'd put us in Grandstand again. We stayed their once (May last year) and have been in Springs ever since.

The area does feel very secluded, in part because the road is a dedicated one to the area. The rest of the resort is on a sort of loop. Grandstand, however, is in the midst of the golf course so the entry road bisects it. There's a lot of lovely walking paths through that area.

Views are of the pool:

Another advantage to Grandstand, besides being the first bus stop, is that you're actually closer to the ferry dock. Just follow the walkway to Carriage House and veer right toward the country club (where all the golf carts are). You can either hop the ferry or just continue across the bridge and take the walkway to DTD Westside (where DisneyQuest lies along with all the signature restaurants).
