Hello all -
We've been looking at DVC for about a year now. We've talked to Tom, our guide, on the phone and he's been extremely helpful.
DH and I were on a business trip at the Swan last week and took the DVC tour with Mike. Needless to say, we were impressed and we know DVC is in our future. DH wanted to purchase at that time using our HE Line of credit. I'd rather save and pay cash. We decided to wait and save just to be safe (you just never know in this economy...and we're a one income family).
Anyway...toward the end of our tour, Mike said that since we've now taken the tour, the discount ($79 per point rather than $89) is only valid for 3 days. This was totally new news to me, and it left a bad taste in my mouth after a wonderful, no pressure tour. Can someone verify this? We were initially given the impression that the discount was available through 10/31, and certainly no one forewarned us that we'd be giving up our discount opportunity by taking the tour.
I'm on the verge of changing my mind and going ahead with the purchase...but I'm certainly not going to do it now without the discount.
Thanks to all of you for your help. It seems like every time a DVC question pops into my mind, the answer is waiting for me here next time I log on. The knowledge here is amazing and you are all very kind to share it.
Katie
