We will be making our first trip home to SSR this October and have a dedicated 2 bdr reserved. From the 2 bdr diagram available at the DVC member site, it appears that there is a bar/counter with a couple of stools and a small table with a couple of chairs, but no large dining table. Is this correct?

Just trying to plan out how any in-room meals will work for the 7 of us while there -- thanks for the help!

That is right, you have the counter(can't really remember how many chairs), then the table and a bench(2 adults at most).

I think OKW may have a full size table with ample number of chairs in a 2br.

The table has a bench seat(could fit three adults) and I believe two chairs on the other side and I can't remember how many bar stools-maybe three.

Thanks Starr!

We just stayed in a ded. 2 bed at SSR a few weeks ago.

The layout is correct. You will have the breakfast bar with 2 chairs and then there is an oval table with a wall bench on one side and 2 more chairs on the other.

The 4 of us fit at the table fine, and you could seat 6 with the chairs from the bar area placed at the ends of the table. 3 children could fit across on the bench, but only 2 adults.

Most of the space in the ded was used by the sleeping areas which we really appreciated, being 4 adults.

We had a ded 2 bed at BCV before and it was pretty much the same layout and size table and chairs. I know OKW is different with a large dining table and no breakfast bar area.

HTH!

OKW 2 bedroom units have a round table with 4 seats, and a table on the balcony that seats 4. There is enough room that you can move the balcony table and chairs inside, if your wish (they are lightweight plastic), if the sofa sleeper is folded.

There's also two chairs in the second bedroom which can be brought to the dining room. We have been able to seat 6 around the OKW dining table comfortably, and I'm sure you can squeeze 7 in as well. You can also bring in the small table from the second befroom for more table space, besides the outdoor furniture.

Thanks to everyone for your responses -- greatly appreciated!

Bummer...

I was visualizing our family of 8 sitting nicely around the table for our Christmas dinner. If a two-bedroom accomodates 8, why would the table not seat 8? Oh, well... SSR does not have the patio table like OKW, does it?

The mystery of maximizing size vs. profits. I suspect someone figured that most guests would prefer eating big meals at the restaurants. Or was it that Disney preferred guests eat big meals out?

The patio table is a small, end table style. Not a good fit for big meals.

On the bright side, you can always reserve a GV and get a really big dining room set for that Yuletide meal.
