SSR (close to DTD) vs OKW (same price), help and opinions please?!?

i'm trying to plan our upcoming trip but need a little help and some opinions! we're looking at staying at either SSR or OKW, we're not DVC members, but i've found a great deal on the hotels.
we'd be staying in a studio, there's only me and DH going, and both resorts are the same price.
at the moment i'm leaning towards SSR mainly because its walking distance to DTD so it'll give us something/somewhere to go in the evenings. plus if we want to go offsite, i understand you can get lynx buses from DTD, just think SSR may be a bit more convenient for us. but i'm open to changing that to OKW if there's good reasons to do so.

which would you choose and why? what are the pros and cons to each resort? any photos you want to share!!

(i asked this on the main resorts board but someone mentioned i may get more help over here, as they're both DVC resorts).

If you need more space and like the quiet, I'd say OKW. But, given what you said, I voted SSR if you want to be very close to DTD. Both have fun boats to DTD, and we prefer the atmosphere at OKW b/c it is quiet and relaxed. You can't go wrong either way!

Ordinarily, I'd choose OKW over SSR, but not in your case. In your case, with just the two of you going, I'd go with SSR.

The OKW studio is bigger, but it has two queen beds. That's great if you have more than two people, but you don't. I'd go with SSR's queen + sleeper couch. The room will appear bigger than OKW and you'll have a place to sit.

Ditto. If you can, place a request for Congress Park or the Springs (if that's possible. It will put you close to the main pool and DTD.

Enjoy your stay! SSR is a beautiful resort, but so is OKW if you decide to stay there!!! I love them both, but voted for SSR because of the OP.

OKW the porch is the best!

also, the boat to dtd is wonderful

and the color scheme, growth of the foliage etc..great!

DTD..no more pleasure Island, so unless you are a shopaholic or play at DQ, there may not be as much to do there as you may think

Since OKW is my home resort, I'd have to say staying @ OKW is better. As other posters have stated u can catch the boat to DTD. Plus, there rooms are bigger that SSR. We've stayed @ SSR only when OKW wasn't available. We just prefer OKW to SSR. But, then again this is just my opion.

For 2 people in a studio, I would definitely pick SSR. I like a sofa to sit on for TV and to relax better than 2 beds. The set up of SSR's studio is much more to my liking. Don't have to worry about getting a building with an elevator at SSR, at OKW it's not a "given."
