Has anyone staying at SS ventured over to Cirque du Soleil?

Is it a good place to take a 4,5, & 8 year olds?

Is it best to order tickets in advance, or wait till we arrive (or is it often sold out)?

Is it an easy walk from SSR? Or is it better to take the ferry?

Is it best to call Disney for the ticket or cheaper to order them elsewhere?

Thanks for your tidbits, we have always wanted to go and thought this would be a great opportunity since we will be so close!

These boards are so interesting and infirmative!!
They enhance the planning phase of our trips so much!!

Finding tickets depends on the time of year you are going. We have not had a lot of luck buying tickets after arrival. We usually buy ours beforehand. I think it is a show all ages enjoy, but it might get a bit long for the youngest one. Lots of activity in these shows!

I can't say if you should walk or take the ferry, since we have not stayed at SSR yet.

We haven't stayed at SSR yet, but from what I have been gathering from trip reports, it seems to be a pleasant stroll between the two. With the young ones I would ferry though.

I don't think the 4yr & 5 yr olds would enjoy the show, it is a pretty lengthy performance. My 12 yr old napped thru the entire performance, but we did put in a hard day at the park before going. I would encourage you to take advantage of the childrens activities (sitters) offered for the two youngest ones. even at 20 bucks an hour for two kids, you'd be money ahead, especially if you had to leave early due to meltdown..

If you have an AP I *think* there is a discount, I would purchase in advance if possible. Lots of places to get tickets, but I would try the disney site, it gives you a seating map so you can make an informed choice. I don't think there is a bad seat in the place, but there are some better than others.

We plan to see it again June 05, it really is a great show! Enjoy.

La Nouba is a GREAT show and got us hooked on Cirque in general (we've now seen three traveling shows as well as La Nouba). We always wanted to see the show but could never rationalize the cost. When we finally took the plunge, we wished we would have done it sooner!

If you want to go, definitely buy tickets ahead of time. Since La Nouba was our first Cirque experience, we didn't realize that seat location is important. Center sections, even if in the 200 level, are much better for getting the entire experience than being off to the side.

There is an AP discount but only on 2nd tier seats (side) and only 14 days ahead of time (so you can only choose from whatever is left). We have APs but already bought our tickets for a late Sept show when we'll be staying at SSR. We plan to walk over, have dinner first, then go to the late show.

During Member Homecoming we walked from SSR to the lawn directly behind Cirque. It was a nice stroll along the lake and a small part of the golf course. It took about 10 min.

The walkway that leads you to Cirque is located behind the Carriage House.

Ditto what poohj80 said ...
I too have been to 2 other Cirque's (last one just this past Saturday - Verekei') since seeing La Nouba and I would highly recommend it. I took my 9 yo niece to La Nouba 2 years ago and she loved it. She still talks about it all the time and was mad at me for not bringing her to Verekei (sp?).

Ages 4 & 5 might be a bit young depending on the child. I think they would enjoy it if well rested as it is a lengthy performance but it is geared towards children in general.

Thanks for all your great advice. I booked today in category 1 seats. We are taking all 3 children and knowing them I think they will enjoy the early show, but we definately will take it very easy that day.

Boy, the tickets sure are expensive. I just thought it would be great being able to get there so easily from SSR.

4 months seems like forever, 1/3 of a year!! Don't you find that after you book it takes forever for the date to come?

Thanks for all your tips!!

I'm so glad you decided to go - I don't think you'll regret it! Where are your seats? Picking the early show is probably best with children. Please come back and post your experience after the show.

Our seats are in row 205 (next to 204), so they are very close to center stage, so it appears. They are only 5 seats in that particular section so it will be just our family in the row. Can't wait!

It is so fun to share in all of our excitement and be able to be excited for other people too. Thanks!
