Does anyone know the order the buses pick up/drop off internally at SSR?

TIA!

IIRC, Grandstand, Carousel, Paddocks, Congress Park, Springs. :thumbsup2

Let me get this straight....If I'm at the back of the resort (furthest from the main bldg...not sure the names), I would take an internal bus (or walk) to the main area and then get a bus to the parks???

The resort looks big on the map, is it???

We will probably walk to the main bus area, I don't mind waiting for one bus, but 2 would drive me nuts....I'd rather be walking than standing:goodvibes

This will be our fist stay here this summer and we are very excited. DH, DS, DD and I toured SSR last summer when we were considering buying into DVC.

I found out today I was one of the lucky ones to get the free upgrade from value resort to DVC resort:banana: This is a quick trip with Dsis, Dniece, DD and myself...GIRLS TRIP! DS and DH are a bit jealous of the upgrade:cool2:

First of all, congratulations on your upgrade! SSR is a beautiful resort. :thumbsup2

Second, I'm not sure what you mean by "the back of the resort". From what location point? From the entrance? From the Carriage House? (You probably can call SSR direct and ask what your reservation means as far as location; then you'd know which section.)

And third, each section has its own bus stop, so you wouldn't have to go to the Carriage House/restaurant/main pool area unless you wanted to. (By the way, both Artist's Palette and Turf Club are good!:thumbsup2 )

Enjoy your stay, and enjoy your luck! (In case you were wondering, we absolutely  DVC! :goodvibes )

The schedule mentioned is the one I experience last weekend. Except for one ride where... I boarded at the Grandstand, the bus went to all the other stops and then went BACK to the Grandstand to pick up more passngers before exiting the resort. Why, I have no idea.

I don't think you would have to walk very far to any bus stop. I don't know what is meant by the "back of the resort"

Artists Palate is great! I don't know about Turf Club but I will try it someday. I should have tried it for lunch.

So the bus system is kind of like at POR...multiple stops at the resort...you don't need to transfer busses within the resort to get to the parks. I was thinking there was only one stop to the parks (like at CR and POLY, POP), but the internal system, just kept looping through and taking people to the one bus area for park transportation.

What I meant about the back of the resort, was the furthest point from the main area...which is where I thought the one bus stop to the parks was.

THANKS for your clarification and quick replys!

I don't think SSR has an internal system the way OKW has. OKW has an internal bus that circles the resort area. The last stop on the regular SSR route is the Springs (unless your bus driver decides to go BACK to the Grandstand) and that is the stop you need for the main building anyway.

I would guess that the furthest point from the main building is the Carousel. If you board there, get off at the Springs for the main building.

I have been at SSR when someone would get on the bus at the Springs and say they wanted to go back to the Carousel...and the bus driver would take them there. Not good for me because I was trying to get to a show at PI.

I made the show anyway but only because the start of the show had been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Okay, so if I'm staying in the Carousel section and want to go to MK. I go to the bus stop in the Carousel section, will a bus come by that says MK? I get on, it will stop at the other SSR resort stops then head to MK. Or does a bus come through and regardless of what park I'm going to it will take me to Springs, where I will get off and get on a bus labled MK?

I think the word Internal is throwing me off. To me an internal bus, never leaves the grounds, it just loops around the resort.

Sorry for being so dense......

If you're at Carousel, you get on a MK bus. You will have 2 more stops, Paddocks and The Springs, and then you'll be en route to MK. All the buses, whether internal or park-destined will follow that route, so if you want to get to the main area (CH, pool and restaurants), hop on any bus that comes along, and get off at The Springs (main area's bus stop)!

Wherever you're going, the bus will stop at Carousel and follow the same route. :thumbsup2

And you were right, the "internal bus" at SSR just loops the resort over and over. It is there for people who want a ride to the Springs for the pool or whatever. I always think I would hate to be that driver. :coffee:

Park buses for SSR start at Grandstand, then do Carrousel, The Paddock, Congress Park and then the Springs.

DTD buses start at Congress Park, then the Springs, Grandstand, Carrousel, the Paddock and then Congress Park again.

If a bus went to Grandstand twice, it was because he was told to.

Why on earth would they go to certain stops twice?

And the bus I was on was an MGM bus. No idea why he'd go back to the Grandstand.

DTD buses start at Congress Park because they enter and exit the resort thru the side auxillary gate on BVD. They do Congres Park twice because of where it is in proximity to the route run.

All other buses enter thru the main gate on Disney Vacation Club Way.

So if I'm at the main building, say I'm at the pool or the restaurant or something, and I want to get back to my room in one of the farther sections without having a long walk, can I get a bus FROM the main building back to another part of SSR? Or am I out of luck and just need to walk?

Is there truly an internal bus that never leaves the resort, or do the buses just pick up, stop at the main building last, and then head out to the parks?
