We're headed for SSR in January. We had a one night stay there a few years back and weren't thrilled with it, but it was all we could get for the time period we needed. So maybe the answer to this question will make SSR a more attractive spot for us. :)

Here's the deal: DH is totally addicted to his breakfast at Mickey D's at home (unfortunately, we only live about half a mile away). Does anyone know when the McDonald's in downtown Disney opens, are they open for breakfast? How about the prices, I'm sure they're more than at home, but does anyone remember approximately what they are? Like, how much for his traditional sausage biscuit and a senior Coke, or my Egg McMuffin and small OJ? How long would it take to get there...I hear we can walk or boat...does the boat run in the mornings, and if so, how early?

Thank you all for your help! :thumbsup2

I dont know about the menu or prices but I do know that they are open for breakfast and DVC members get a 20% discount.

We did this when we stayed at SSR in January 2007. We did take the boat to get there. From what I have read, McDonalds at DTD opens at 8am. The prices are comparable to what you would pay outside of Disney. I believe I paid $1.50-2.00 for my sausage biscuit.

Boats don't usually start before 10am. If you are in the Congress Park section it is a few minutes to walk to DTD.

DH made the walk over to DTD one morning before we all were up and brought back pancakes for our 2 grandbabies. Yummie.

The food is just the same as you are used to and so is the service. Depending on where you stay at SSR you can walk or boat. Try and stay near the lakeside so you can just walk around.
