Hi everyone,

We joined DVC at the end of January while on our first Disney cruise but haven't received the paperwork in the mail yet, so I'm not sure I can call MS to have my question answered. In any case, I was curious if anyone has recently made reservations for a late October stay at SSR or if availability is low for that time period (say Oct 27 - Nov 1). I know the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is going on then, as well as MNSSHP at MK, which made me wonder how crowded DVC resorts typically are during that time of year.

Thanks!

Since October is eight months away, and you want to stay at SSR, IMO, you have a good chance of getting a reservation there. Just call MS as soon as you get your paperwork.
Good luck and :welcome: HOME! :thumbsup2

Thanks DVC Grammy! I'm guessing if we wanted to stay at a DVC resort close to Epcot, there wouldn't be much if anything available at the 7-month window for late October. Is that accurate?

It never hurts to call and ask or book SSR and put your self on the waitlist.

If you already put down a deposit, you might call your guide and have them check and put a hold on it. Ours did this, then we just called in and they were able to change it from a hold to a regular reservation. I was worried cause we needed March, and that's already next month!!

Late October is Food and Wine - and one of the more difficult times to get Epcot resorts. Owners have started waitlisting already. You can try, but I'd plan on staying at SSR.

I was able to get BWV for August...a Thursday through Sat. My home resort is SSR.

We have a late october reservation at SSR. We called and booked about 91/2 months out. My family is now talking about wanting to try to switch to VWL at 7 months. We're quite happy staying at SSR if nothing else is available though. We love SSR. It's absolutely gorgeous there. Good luck

I just booked a 2 bedroom villa at BCV yesterday for Sunday 10/21 to Friday 10/26. MS didn't indicate there was a shortage of availability so you may still have a chance. Doesn't hurt to try! Good luck.

Thanks all,

We received our document package yesterday and I called MS this morning. They have plenty of availability at SSR right now for the last week in October. I'll probably make the reservations there after we figure out who all is going and then try my luck at BWV or BCV when I hit the 7-month window.

Out of curiosity, if you have a 4-day reservation at your home resort and you're interested in moving it to another resort at the 7-month window, how do the logistics work? So say I have a reservation for Oct 28-Nov 1 at my home resort (SSR) and March 28 rolls around. I call MS to see if I can book BCV for Oct. 28 and they say yes, there's availability. Would they convert the first day of my Oct 28-Nov 1 reservation to BCV or would it be considered a new reservation? Just trying to understand it from a points perspective.

Thanks everyone for your input. We're so excited to be DVC members!
