My 7 month window is in a few weeks and had a couple questions.
At SSR we normally request Congress becuase we like access to the quiet pool in the evenings. Haven't stayed there in a few years now and want to confirm what other complexes are nearest the other theme pools?
For VWL where I have never stayed it there anywhere I can request?

Appreciate the answers in advance

Congress Park has the only non-themed pool. Other areas are the Springs (near Carriage House, High Rock Springs, Artist Palette), Paddock (near the Paddock themed pool with small counter service), Grandstand (near the Grandstand pool and water play area), Carousel (no pool and a quiet area, but not too far from the Paddock area).

VWL, it's small and not much of a view other than trees, trees and more trees.

During one stay at VWL, we had a dedicated 2BR (#4545) on the quiet pool side and were able to see a little bit of the lake and Water Pageant... through the trees. It was nice.

As previously noted, the view at VWL is of trees. However, if you request a room on the lake view side, at least you will catch glimpses of the lake and EWP through the trees. We generally ask for a pool/courtyard view room, floors 2-4. Some people like the first floor, but we prefer to get above the ground level, and we don't go for the 5th floor because the balconies are dormer-style, i.e., the railing is solid meaning you have to stand up to see over it. Regardless of where you get, however, you'll enjoy VWL. :thumbsup2

Just be aware that if one of the reasons you may choose Congress Park is to be close to the walkway to Downtown Disney, that walkway is currently closed because they are redoing that area including adding a bridge and there is no eifinite date for when it will reopen although it is unlikely to occur before the second half of this year.

I like the fact at Congress we can get in/out via the back gate and we are pretty much at out complex. We do quite a bit off site and like to be near the exit closer to areas outside of WDW. Thanks for the heads up on the walkway
