SSR and car rental vs. bus system

Now does it change anyone's opinion that we will be there President's week?
Not really---I still think it's just a matter of personal preference.

We usually either rent a car or drive down from NY. So we always have a car of some sort. I just can't imagine boarding a bus with two young boys a stroller and all of the other stuff we will need for the day out.

I'm the other way, I could never imagine boarding a tram with the stroller, again! Boarding a bus is way, way, way easier than boarding a tram!

YES!! And you don't have to worry about the bus driver telling you to stick your kids in the middle so they don't fall out :rotfl:

We take full advantage of Magical Express and don't rent a car. We have have great luck with the buses at SSR....will be there in 22 days, car free and we can't wait!:woohoo:

We'll be at SSR in early December and will be using the buses. This is our first trip to SSR but we have stayed at CBR many times and always used the Disney transportation system. We have no complaints at all. Of course there were a few times when we had to wait or when a bus was crowded but overall we loved the convenience of having Disney do the driving.

We have rented a car many times, but in 2002 we went at Christmas, and the cost of a car was over $600 a week! That was just over the top, we thought, so we went without a rental for the first time. It was actually rather relaxing, because we had to leave time to get to our dinner reservations on time. Since then, we have never gotten a car at Christmas for $600 a week, when we are staying two weeks at Disney, and have never had a problem. DH loves to be able to leave the driving to the bus driver, and he can just sit back and watch the scenery. I personally would prefer a car, but for $600 a week, I will make do with Disney's bus service.:santa:

We usually rent a car because we shop for groceries. Also, we have been known to have fast passes for later in the day and ride rides we want mid-afternoon. Leave and go wait for the bus (which seems to take longer later in the day no matter which resort you are at) go swimming, eat dinner and then drive back to the park that we have fast passes for and use them and catch the closing fireworks if it is that park. Usually if you are going back to a park at evening or night such as HS or EPCOT, many cars have left and you can park right up front and don't have to worry about trams. We have been at SSR , in the pool at 7:35, driven back to our room, dried off and changed, grabbed some food and been back into EPCOT for Illuminations with a really good viewing area by driving the rental car. (Buses would have taken much longer for this!!)

I love Disney's buses for the peace of mind that they will get me to where I'm going without worries.

If I'm in so much of a rush to get to a park or adr that I need a car, then I'm doing something wrong - it's vacation! I say, sit back and enjoy the ride.
