I'm going to be staying at SSR for the 1st time in Oct. and I have a few questions about the amenities.

1) I know all the studio rooms at other properties include paper plates, bowls & utensils, but it's not listed on the SSR ammenties. Are they included in the studio rooms??

2) How long is the bus ride from SSR to MK? Does it make alot of stops or do they have a dedicated bus?

3) How late is the spa open?

4) Currently, are the only rooms available in Congress Park? Will other rooms be open by Oct.? How long of a walk is it from Congress Park to Carriage House (Main Area)?

Thanks for all the help & I'm really looking forward to may stay

ok ok let's see.....

Yes, our studio had paper plates and such. They were replenished on trash/towel day.

All the park busses are for SSR-park only. The busses currently make 3 stops within the resort. The ride to MK was pretty quick, though longer than i wished it was while rushing late to our Cindy's breakfast.;)

Don't know how late the spa is open.

Congress park should be all built out by August. I dont know if any of the next three buildings will be open by October. I can see how the farthest rooms will feel like a bit of a hike to the lobby, but we didn't think the walk was too bad from the first building. In fact we did it several times a day. The next section of buildings is right on top of the lobby, though. So if you want to be close, I'd request a room there.

Last week we saw at least one bus that was making the rounds to both Old Key West and SSR. But, by October there will be 4 buildings open (about 200 rooms), which will probably justify full-time dedicated service.

The bus ride to MK is only about 10 minutes once you're actually on the bus. MK is the one park that it is often much easier to reach by bus than even driving.

Only the Congress Park buildings will be open in 2004. The other buildings will not begin to open until 2005.

We did the walk from the pool to a building a couple of times to visit the model rooms. I didn't think it was any more than 5 minutes. You're walking straight across a bridge and then one "block" of buildings (sales center, cinema, etc.) The boat dock, on the other hand, is quite a trek. It is almost twice as far (8-10 min, IIRC) from the Congress Park area, and it will be even farther from some of the later development.

Thanks stacy6552 & tjkraz!

This info really helps in my planning & also makes me feel better about there busing system.

During Member Homecoming week they had dedicated buses except some nights at park closing they would ask us to combine with OKW or another resort. On the OKW trip we stopped there first but another night the put us on with AKL and we stopped at SSR first and the bus went on from there.

It really made sense because there were so few people staying at SSR, it really made sense to combine trips.
