Happy Birthday Gail!

Ok so I need to get caught up since I haven't been on the boards in over a week.

Julie - Yea the baby turned! I would think about you every day and hope that that little one would behave and turn around for you.

Diana - Sorry to hear about your mother in law.

Gail - Love the new ride!!! I remeber those days not so long ago of hanging out with my friends and taking rides on the bikes (I was the b@tch on back) or hanging out in Lake George for the Americade rally. Great memories!

Erin - Yikes! both the TV & the Wii down for the count. I can't imagine what it would be like in this house if that happened.

Cindy & Amy - It was great to hear that you guys got to meet and hang out for a while.

Steve - Glad to hear you are having fun in Canada! Hope you catch a big one!

Mary - Christopher must have been just so adorable at "Grammie's happy place". Those are memories for a lifetime.

Ok so there has been all this talk about Rock Band. Well we have it but we haven't even taken it out of the box yet. Best Buy ran a package deal so when we bought the new tv we got the Xbox 360 & Rock band. Now that we have the finished area of the basement painted and cleaned up I image it will be coming out soon. Guess we will need to practice since everyone is ahead of us on that.

Well I was AWOL for the last week because I was in Brooklyn for work from Wednesday of last week until Monday night. The work part sucked but on the weekend my girlfriend from work drove down with her daughter and they brought Nick too. Well My girlfriend and her daughter have never been to NYC before so I took them on there first NY subway ride from Brooklyn into Manhattan to Times Square. Needles to say my friends daughter had a ball (she is 14) and thought everything was great.
We couldn'd have picked a better Saturday to hit Times Square. The was a street festival that went for I don't even know how many blocks, which was great. We went to Rockefeller Center, St patrick's Catherdral, & Trump Tower. Of course we shopped too. We hit the Toys R Us to check out the Ferris Wheel, we went to M&M world to get what else but some M&M's. No trip to NYC is complete for me unless we hit the Disney store on 5th Ave (where I spent to much money of course...but in my defense I bought a couple of Christmas gifts). The last big store we hit was FAO Schwartz where we saw the show on the Big floor Piano (from the movie Big) and where I spent some more money (not at much as at the Disney store though). We had a late dinner then caught the subway back to Brooklyn at about Midnight and were back in the hotel room by 12:30.
Needless to say we were beat since the whole adventure started at like 2 in the afternoon!

Ok I think I'm caught up now (I hope and sorry if I missed anything)

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I had a nice day and it ended with the girls next door bringing me a whopper shake for my birthday. Good thing my birthday is when they are home from college for the summer :thumbsup2

Annmarie, sorry to hear about the back surgery. I hope you are feeling ok and on the mend soon. With the cruise in the future, that will give you plenty of reasons to get better quicker. Way to go Tom for winning the cruise. :thumbsup2 Are the girls still involved in gymnastics?

Erin, I loved the cake. I should show it to John and see if the Meijer or Costco here makes that one. We're going to my sisters tomorrow for my birthday celebration with my family.

Saturday morning we leave to go up north for the week. My daughters Dawn & Diane will be joining us in the middle of the week. Dawn finished her first year at Duke and will be home for a couple of weeks in July. Then it's back to starting the second year.

John's coming home early today and we're going to try and fit in a quick :moped: ride before going to his parents for the evening, so I better get off the computer and get some wash finished so we can get packed for the trip. He says I'm obsessed about the bike or maybe that possessed :rotfl:

SORRY I missed your birthday Gail! Sounds like it was a good one though. Hope you have fun in the north of Michigan!

Sounds like everyone else is BUSY BUSY BUSY.

Here are a couple pics from the last few days

Annmarie - nice to see you! Way to go on winnng that cruise! I hope your recovery cooperates for you. No eco tour this time, just means you have to do it again. Shucks!

Sandy, nice to see you too. You should post more often!

Stacy, if we ever come to NY, I'm calling you. I would anyway, but you sound like an awesome tour guide. :thumbsup2

Why is it Steve goes to Canada and we hear more from him than when he's home? And, what's with that jacket? It's summertime, you know. ;)

The humidity kicked in here, it's starting to feel like summer. :)

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to take a minute and pop in to say hi!

Gail....a belated happy birthday! It sounds like alot of fun. Have fun with Dawn while she is home. They really are gone from the nest too soon. (More on my experience with that later)

Steve....nice fish! Glad to see the boat is getting you to the good fishing spots.

Julie....glad to hear that the baby has turned. Hang in there. Every day now is one day closer!

Erin....don't know where you found that cake, but it looks great!

I've been very busy this last week. We had our DD, her DH, and DGD Allison here for four days! Allison is scooting now (not really crawling yet) and pulling up on furniture, so that meant I had to baby proof the house. The last time I did that was about 20 years ago!:scared1: So you can imagine the work that was involved there.

Dana is getting ready to move to Denver. She is my "baby" and Denver is a long ways away. We've been going through her things today and deciding what needs to go and what can stay here for now. It's a very big job! I don't know if I mentioned this, but she is going to be opening her own business there, a yarn shop for people that knit and crochet. This is her dream, so I hope and pray that she does well in it. Need to get back to packing, but before I go, I thought I'd post a new picture of Allison. She likes tags!

And, what's with that jacket? It's summertime, you know. ;)

Summertime here could mean shorts & halters (not that I wear one  ) to spring jackets or even a heavier coat and the bad part is you could actually wear all of this throughout the same day!

Nice fishy's Squid. Looks like you're actually spending time fishing and not just drinking! Enjoy the rest of your fishing trip.

John and I just took a 50 mile ride. It was nice as long as the bike was moving, but any stops and it got really hot quickly with the jacket and helmet on. We had to gas up, that darn thing cost me $9.50 to fill :rotfl2:

Mary, Congrats to Dana on following her dream. How neat that she has the opportunity to do that.

Allison is adorable!

Cindy , that is a RAIN SUIT you wear those when you fish in the RAIN which it is doing again this morning.
And they have no TV thats why I am online so much!

Mary I hope the yarn shop is a booming success! Keep us posted.

Steve...Looks like you are having a great trip! Hope you catch lots more fish!

Mary...Glad to hear Dana is following her dream! I wish her alot of luck!

Stacy...Sounds like a great trip...I've never been to NY, buyt if I do, I will ask you for tips on where to visit!

Erin...That was a great looking cake, where did you get it from?

Diana...Good to see you again! Sounds like you firls and my girls have alot in common with those games! I've never played, but the girls are non stop! Sorry to hear about you Mother in law!

Amy...Good to see you again, also! Looks like you had a blast while here in Chicago!

Well, I hope that everyone has a great weekend! The girls are going to the zoo tomorrow with my mom, and the rest of the weekend is just relax time...I plan to watch the Cubs/Sox games this weekend! Lets hope the Cubs sweep the Sox again! Go Cubs! First game starts in 5mins...I plan to turn it on here at work!

Hey Look I am home and still yakkin!

I hope you enjoy the last two weeks Julie, I know some mom-to-be's are pretty uncomfortable towards the end!!

Stacy, sounds like you had a great time in the big city.

It was nice hearing from Diana and Amy again too

I hope John and Gail had a great time on the cycles over the weekend and they are enjoying the lake this week.

I hope I didnt miss anyone else, sorry if I did

I am on a 48 starting tomorrow then off the fourth and then another 48 so I may have some spare time to chat online then. Right now I have to finish cleaning the boat.

Hey everyone! Well, we had a little adventure this morning. At 4am, we were on our way to the ER with Madison. She apparently had climbed into my bed at some point, but she was laying on the edge. She was adjusting/rolling over/something, and fell out of my bed. We think that she hit her face on the nightstand and ended up with stitches. The doctor thinks that it was her teeth that cut her all the way to the outside. So, 8 stitches later (4 on the outside, 3 on the inside, and 1 in-between), she's doing ok, but she has a big, ol' fat lip. Thankfully, the cut is in the crease of her chin, so the doctor says that the scar should be minimal.

So, say a prayer for my little baby!! :wizard:

And, thank goodness that it happened last night, because Chris leaves in the morning for Nashville for 5 days for his singing competition. I dont' know what I would have done all by myself!!! :scared1:

Poor Madison. I hope she is on the mend quickly. :tinker:

We had our own excitement this morning as the nursing home my mom is in called bright and early to say that they rolled my mom out of bed this morning and onto the floor. :scared1: My first question was how did this happen and my second was she needs to get to the hospital. The said it was an accident and that the ambulance was already on the way. The good news is she doesn't have a broken hand and shoulder like they first thought. The bad news is that she broke her nose in the process. My sister said she's getting rather colorful. I'll go out there tomorrow night as for today, I'm sure she's beat - literally. It's terrible to have older parents that you have to worry about. They are adding a side rail to her bed so hopefully this won't happen again.

Steve, welcome home. Did you catch anything big??? That sure looked like a warm jacket when I first saw the picture.

Does anyone have any big plans for the weekend? We're just hanging home - nothing big. After our go-go-go weekend last weekend, it will be nice to do nothing. It's Gary's birthday on the 4th, I've ordered fireworks for him. :rolleyes1

Hi Gail - :lmao: Tom and I are the other Tom and Annmarie without the girls. It's nice to have your children home with you for the summer. Shawn graduated at the beginning of May and was offered a job in Philadelphia and has decided to stay living there. It took me several weeks before I could even talk about him not coming home to Massachusetts without  I've been told it is difficult when it's your only child but the sadness doesn't go away :sad2:

OMG Amy! Poor Madison. I hope she feels better soon. Thank goodness for jello and other soft foods. I hope Chris does well at his singing competition.

OMG Cindy - your poor DM! If she had to break anything I guess her nose is better than her hand or shoulder. June was a bad month for me and I hope July turns out to be a better month for everyone else!

Since I am only getting around with a walking cane for a while and the pain is still unbearable, we won't be doing anything special for the 4th. :bday: to Gary if I'm not back on for a few days.

Annmarie

Poor Madison.
I hope she is feeling better. I had to have stitches in a similar location for about the same reason when I was about her age. Back before car seats when kids used to sit on Mom or Dads lap in the front seat of the car is how mine happened. My Dad had to stop the car short and my face was quickly introduced to the dashboard and my teeth ended up splitting my lip open. My Dad's uncle was my doctor at the time and he stitched me back up and was impressed with how I sat there while he moved my lip back into place and stitched it up. You can't even see the scar. I bet no one would have even known if I hadn't just told this story.

Happy 4th of July

Let me say that early since we will be busy, busy, busy tomorrow. Nick's Boy Scout troop walks in the town parade and we run a concession stand at the town Commons. So between set up, the parade, working the booth, watching the fireworks, and the breakdown we will basically not be home tomorrow and resting on Saturday!
