SSMC2006 cruise friends

Hey everyone. :wave2: I'm still around, I've been really busy lately and haven't had a chance to check in.

Julie, great news on the baby turning, you're coming in the home stretch now!

Gail, the bike looks so cool!

Stacy, we want to see some pictures of Nick's cool game room!

Julia doesn't know it yet, but my Dad bought her Rock Band for Wii for her birthday. We were up there last month and played it for Xbox and that's all she's been talking about since. I think I'm in trouble.

We're heading to Ohio in 2 weeks, Bruce's mother isn't doing well and the cancer has spread into her liver. But I do have some happy trips planned too--the scrapbooking convention at the Yacht Club in August with friends and the very next week, my whole family is coming down we're doing 5 days at the Beach Club.

Then the girls will be back in school and life will be all hectic again. But for now, I think we're heading to the beach today. We had a rainy weekend here I need my FL sunshine fix!!

:rockband: I can just see Julia playing that, how cute! :rockband:

Sorry to hear about Bruce's mother.

Diana - so glad to see you around!!! :thumbsup2

Oh I can't wait to hear how Julia likes RockBand! We have it (of course .. was there a doubt) for the XBox (I think) and supposedly I am going to be the singer (NOT).

So sorry to hear about Bruce's mom - pixie dust and prayers.

We already have the High School Musical singing game and the three of us fight over who gets to sing with the microphone  Julia is definitely the drummer though, she's already called dibs on the drums and she doesn't even know she's getting it!!

Hey guys - long time, no check in!!!

Things have been busy around here, but we've been having fun!!! School is over, and summer break is here!!!

First off, Emily graduated from Kindergarten. And, only in FL, do they have the K graduation at a pool, with the kids in their swimsuits. It was too, too cute!!

Then, the day after the last day of school, we headed up to Chicago to visit friends & family!!! Our first day, we headed to Cindy's neck of the woods, to watch Cameron's baseball game, and then to lunch!! We had a great time with the Popek family and can't wait to see them again!!!

Then, we went to visit my brother and his family and spent the evening there, with my best friend from high school and her family too. Turns out that my BFriend's mom, watches my nephew during the day when my brother and SIL work. Talk about small world. Anyway, then later that evening, Emily lost her first tooth!! Big deal for this 6 yr old!! She had been grossing Cindy out all day with how loose it was, so it was about time. Thankfully, the toothfairy was prepared and figured that she'd probably lose it while on vacation. Good thing that she lost it too, because the new one was growing in behind the baby tooth.

She lost the one next to it the day that we got home to FL. Two visits from the TF in less than a week!!!

Anyway, we spent the next couple of days being tourists in Chicago, going to Navy Pier, shopping on Michigan Avenue, and Brookfield Zoo. It was a lot of fun, and hope to do it again, next summer, if possible!!! The girls LOVED going to Chicago!!!

Now, we're immersed in summer stuff like swim lessons, playing in the pool, arts & crafts, etc. Chris heads up to Nashville in a couple of weeks for barbershop, then my mom heads down and we'll be going to WDW for a few days.

Busy, busy, busy, but I vow to try to stop by a little more often.

Julie - I was pulling for you that all your "work" to get the baby turned would work out for you!! And I'm glad that it did. Emily was breech, had been since she was about 6 months, and never turned. So, I had a scheduled c-section. While it wasn't what I had planned, it wasn't too bad, but I'm glad that baby Totten, decided to turn.

Stacy - I'm glad to hear that Nick's ordeal is over and it went well!!! Congrats to him!!!

Gail - I love the new bike!! The girls, for some reason, have been obsessed with motorcycles and want daddy to get one. I've always been nervous about them, so I'm not sure that I'm ready for Chris to have one. It's not that I don't trust his driving, I worry about the other crazy drivers on the road!!! But, I know that you'll have fun with it!!!

We borrowed the HSM game for the Wii from my sister and the girls LOVE it. I'm just waiting for when they come out with the Camp Rock one, because I'm sure that they will!!! ;)

Well, I hope that I haven't forgotten anyone, but know that you're all in my thoughts, and like I said, I promise to check in a little more often!!!:thumbsup2

I was actually thinking about that today, big surprise we're on the same wavelength! Only I want the Camp Rock one to be like Guitar Hero or Rock Band so we can jam!! :rockband: We Rock!! We Rock!! We Rock On!!

I want Rock Band - my nephew got it for his birthday and Nick thought he was "lil Rickie" on the drums.....

But I am not able to buy anything right now as we have to send in the Wii for repairs... It quit reading the games last Saturday (2 weeks out of warranty) and then Sunday our Plasma tv went out... I have been waiting week for the parts to come in and HOPE that fixes it. Rich is calling LG about the CARPPY service company they hired here in the Cleveland area...

Diana - sorry to hear about your MIL - can you bring some warm weather up here with you.. it is summer and I am wearing a light jacket everyday!!!!

Amy- congrats on Emily's graduation. WOW where does the time go?

Erin - so sorry to hear about the Wii and TV - UGH!!

Ok on the warm weather - come and get it! Texas is running about 10 degrees warmer than normal and while I have always preferred warm over cold I so can't handle the heat these days. I'll trade you :)

When We were trying to get preggers I decided that IF it did not happen the last month we tried - we would have to wait a few months. I refused to be preggo during a southern summer. lucky me - I only had to make it through April and 1/2 of May. I feel for you dear and I am so excited for you too!!!!!

Way to go, Nick!

Julie, a possum.....yikes!! Excellent that the baby has turned!

Cool addition there, Gail. Walker doesn't believe it's yours. And, Cameron....he says life isn't fair. ;) As for your ride, it sounds like you christened your bike. Here's hoping that is the one and only time it happens.

Steve, catch a big one in Canada. :fish:

Diana, Walker bought Rock Band for Wii on Sunday - good thing he's working this summer :lmao: - I guess I should rephrase that to I bought it for him. Anyway, I think Gary is enjoying it just as much as Walker.

I am so glad Emily lost that tooth. It was so gross hanging there. :scared: I can handle a lot with little kids but losing teeth isn't one of my strong points. In fact, if it ever happens here with one of the daycare kids, they'll be picking me up off the floor. We enjoyed spending time with you guys too. You forgot though, Madison got her ears pierced while here. Amy it is so weird to see Chicago in the background of your signature.

Erin, sorry about your wii and then the TV to boot. My family would be in withdrawal.

Julie, you should come up to Chicago. Our weather has been perfect. Milder temperatures - mid-70's and NO humidity. It's been wonderful. I hope yours cools off or at least you hide out inside. Only a couple more weeks.

Things have been quieter in our house as Cameron's at boy scout camp this week which means Walker has no one to fight with about anything. We've just been hanging out, doing a lot of field trips with the daycare kdis. Tomorrow we're staying home as everyone needs a good naptime - including me. :thumbsup2

Oh No!!! That really stinks to not have your Wii AND your TV!!! Pixie dust that they both are fixed and working soon!!!!!

Amy- congrats on Emily's graduation. WOW where does the time go?
I know it is shocking!! I'm amazed that Madison only has one more year of preschool, and then she'll go to Kindergarten!!! :faint:

I forgot all about the earrings. Yes, we had a rainy day in Chicago and went to the mall. Madison saw an older girl (about 14) getting her ears pierced and she watched the entire time (Emily was not interested). As soon as that girl got up, Madison climbed right in the chair and declared that it was her turn. How could I not let her? I had always said that when they were old enough to ask for them, they could have them. So, she got her little ears pierced, and she didn't even cry. And, not only that, but if you asked her now, she'd tell you that "it didn't even hurt".

I bet that it's weird not to have Cameron there. I remember when Emily was at my sister's last summer for a week. It was almost a little bit creepy!

Hi there everyone! Canda is GORGEOUS! The weather has been great the fishies are starting to cooperate, and the boat is a ton of fun!

It is great to read how everyone is doing. I dont have a great connection up here I am at the edge of the wifi range But I still like reading about all your kids stuff ! They all look like they grown so much in 18 months

Amy - I can't believe Emily graduated from Kindergarten already!!! She looks so wonderful at her party :D . Eww on the tooth!

Cindy - sounds like perfect summer weather! So what's Gary's favorite song so far? I'm thinking he is not in to the HSM stuff that Diana and Amy's kiddos are into :rotfl2:

It's been a L-O-N-G time! I just found this thread and thought I'd say hi to everyone! It's so nice to see so many from SSMC06 still posting and keeping in touch.

There has been a lot going on in our lives and I'm sure with yours as well especially by the number of different threads that have been started. Thank goodness I'm not working right now (recouping from major back surgery) so there should be plenty of time for me to get caught up with what's been going on with everyone.

I did notice congrats are in order for Julie and Matt. You must be so excited! That's great news.

And Gail, what can I say? First :bday: and second, Tom is very jealous of your new addition :moped:! He had one but gave it up about 15 years ago although whenever it is time for his license to be renewed he still gets the special motorcycle classification. I think one of these days he is hoping to find a motorcycle in the driveway with a big bow around it for him. ;)

Anyway, hope everyone has been doing well. We have a cruise planned for October that Tom won!! My surgeon says that by October I'll be ready for a vacation but no eco tour for me!

I'll post again soon.

Take care,
Annmarie (and Tom)
