hello everyone. I hope you can help.
So we are looking to book our honeymoon at the end of the month on payday. So I got a bit worried as we were going to book with Virgin but they don't have alot left for our dates. So I called Disney direct in dispare. The CM I spoke to Wa so helpful and said that for a honeymoon they would not go to the values or CB or CS. he said POR is great as adult the ming means less children and more relaxed atmosphere. He said that they have an offer on at the moment that means for the samples. each money we could stay at Saratoga Springs with the Dining plan too. What do you think?

We have stayed at both and would book either one again. POR is gorgeous! The food court is great and has tons of selection, the pool is fun and there is a boat to Disney Springs.

SSR is also very pretty but doesn't compare to the beauty of POR for me. I thought the quick service was lacking but at SSR you are very close to Disney Springs for more food options. I believe there is a walkway at SSR to Disney Springs but I never used it. I also really like the pools at SSR.

Also the step up at SSR for a studio would give you a bed and a sofa which would be nice if just two people instead of two beds.

I would think POR would have more kids but at Disney kids will be everywhere no matter where you stay. I would have a hard time picking too. I feel like SSR would would great for adults only but I have often said I wouldn't stay at SSR without a rental car (we always rent a car). It is just too big to get around unless you are close to the main building (in my opinion)

Honeymoon, POR for atmosphere and wonderful amenities ( bar in and out, quiet pools and main pool, walking paths, great food court, on site restaurant .. boat to Disney springs, etc)
However, I'd ONLY stay at POR in a "preferred" room. Otherwise you just may be very very far from the front of the resort where South bus depot is, food court, restaurant, lovely boat ride to DS, gift shop etc. u could be very far to anything. ( but now that I think of it Queen beds are in mansion section only (?).. ck the POR map for the Closest building to main area and request that ( it's not preferred) and be sure they know it's your Honeymoon. While no request is Guaranteed, being on ur honeymoon may get you some xtra Pixie dust.

SSR is not atmosphere to me at all.. it's close to DS, that's it in my opinion.
As far as dining plan.. i would not suggest deluxe as its a lot of time ( 1-11/2 hr for Each sit down meal) and more than one a day takes a lot of time away from experiencing and seeing and immersing in disney ( unless ur foodies) the reg dining plan however is a good one, strikes the right balance.
Enjoy ur visit wherever you choose and
CONGRATS to you both!

Thank you both so much. Apparently it is the Princess Royal Rooms that are available I'm not sure where they are located.

Thank you both so much. Apparently it is the Princess Royal Rooms that are available I'm not sure where they are located.
They are a great location right across a bridge from the main lobby and near two bus stops.

oak manor is the closest of the 2 buildings that the royal rooms are located in.

If at all possible/affordable, get a Royal Room with either pool or river view. There are only a handful of those rooms in the Oak Manor and Paterre Place mansions (compared to other RR view categories)...and pool/river view rooms are at the end of the mansions that are closest to the main lobby, dining, main bus stop, etc. (rather than the end next to the parking lot).

We stayed in Royal Rooms at POR a few years ago and LOVED them. They were a tiny bit over the top, but still very pretty...and we loved the fireworks over bed (look it up on youtube!). The grounds at POR are beautiful too, and the boat to DS is very relaxing.

We stayed in pofq for our honeymoon and I highly recommend it, we have stayed at SSR And don't get me wrong lovely resort but it just never felt very disney.

At by a turn of events we are returning to POFQ this year :)

Thank you very much. I am getting worried as doing online searches shows less and less available so I think when I get paid I will just have to see what is free. Grace

Congrats on your up coming wedding.

POR is what we call our home resort... We love it... Simply beautiful. The grounds are beautiful, and well maintained, we love heading for breakfast and walking along the waterway birds, and rabbit all over. We prefer the Bayou rooms, King bed, basically we love the feel and location of the room we try to stay on the back side area of the pool (ole man island). You can view the maps of the resorts on line to see what fits your needs the best.

The pool is very well done, and has a nice bar which is covered and has a bit of seating under the roof. You really get a lot of options here. You can walk down to POFQ and check out the food court, the beignet are pretty good, and its really a nice walk only 5 to 10 minutes depending on where you are at. The boat that runs back and forth from the resort to Disney Springs is a nice option. We love the food court at POR it has a lot of options we like the create your own, salad or pasta options for lunch and dinner, and create your own omelet and yogurt parfait as well during breakfast.

SSR is beautiful and well done, we stayed there only once and only for two nights. We stayed there for some friends wedding, and stayed in a studio which was nice but it felt like any other resort any where else that we have been, just not that Disney feel we love. They got married at Epcot early in the morning and brunch reception was held at the CR. then everyone took a break which means at least for us we took nap, then went over to Disney Springs for the evening. So we really did not check out the pool or food court. Just slept and dressed for the wedding and festivities.

If you want close sit down meals SSR is the better option. POR does have the boat to DS but SSR does as well and you can walk. POFQ is our favorite mod followed by POR. If you will be at parks and other resorts just choose POR.
