My trip isn't til September and I am already starting to pack.

i will respond to responses when i get back, i read through most of them.

working on some last minute things, but i think we have everything ready...have to take off about a half hour early because i forgot to cut my hair last night.

and since many of you have asked where we are going, but no one actually said the location...lets have another little game while we are gone.

still continue to answer the other questions that were asked if you would like.

but another new question that you guys can play along with is.


I have revealed all of these answers before in different posts (either in this report, or in the PTR) so lets see how everyone paid attention, or how much digging they want to do.

1. Where are we going?

Now these are a little more tricky, since i did not devulge any of this.

Go ahead and if you are bored, make a guess on what we did each day or what we are doing that day (the day that you are posting) so sort of like a live guessing game by you guys.

make one guess per day, and you can guess every day if you like.

So i was planning on getting an update in today, but doesnt look like it will happen...I am trying to finish up a few t hings and make sure other stuff is taken care of as well.

which brings me to a few questions that you guys can chime in on while i am in my absence.

1. When do you pack for vacation? The day before for every vacation except for Disney, I start packing the kids stuff a little earlier.
Me- we leave tomorrow, and i put some clothes in the suitcase at lunch time today, but didnt finish anything yet.

2. What about getting your electronic media together? the day before. I've been having to buy new SD cards, because I have so many filled. I'm a slacker!

Me- I have the cameras (yes plural laid out) but did not clean off memory sticks yet, or make sure that the video camera has all tapes recorded and set at the start of the tapes.

3. How about getting things lined up with neighbors.. We have a relative that takes care of all of that. He works for food


Me- this i actually did do last week, have the one set for the mail, another set for the watering of my veggie garden so i come home to some nice 3 lb tomatoes. Have the lawn mower for the vacation set up (ie dad)

4. How about plans for when you are on vacation (not a disney vacation) We just go with the flow


Me- this trip, i only have 2 things set up right now, and one doesnt even have a date assigned to it...the rest will be to fly by the seat of my pants while there and plan stuff on a day to day basis.

5. is it okay to not take as many pairs of underoos as days you will be gone, because some days you plan on never getting out of your bathing suit.

oh yeah on of those new things for the trip that i got was a new camera....it is a sony NEX-3

that sucker is sweet let me tell you.

I know there are a few of you camera buffs out there, so click here to see the camera and its features.


it is the sony version of alight weight DSLR camera and takes great pictures, very sharp and clear and in HD quality...and HD movie quality pic as well...the movies i did on it last week look just as clear as my HD tv shows on the tv at home.

and a feature i know that glenn will like is the automatic sweeping panaramic stitching software built in...you point to that mode, press the button and it does all the work for you, even lets you change direction from left to right, right to left, and up and down panaramic pictures....also shoots pics in 3-D if you have the technology to play them that way.

wow what a plan, so your first 2 boys didnt get there pre names that you had picked out? why did you decide to not use them.

Well, single 16 year old Tanya who picked those names out didn't take into consideration that the other half of the parental units might want a little input. . Although the name James did come up with #3, but by then we had already started our Cubs player theme....and Doc pretty much confirmed that direction when they got the baby out. He asked us "so, is this one Mark Grace?"

Arrival day -- checked in after landing and took a walk in the moonlight on the beach

First full day -- slept in; had breakfast, went to beach, had a candlelit dinner

As soon as possible! Our trip is in early august and I've already started making lists. Once we get graduation over with this weekend I want to get the big plastic tub up here and start throwing things in it.

sticks yet, or make sure that the video camera has all tapes recorded and set at the start of the tapes.

That's not my department. If all 5 of us go we probably have about 7 cameras. 1 apiece, plus Danny takes a smaller one when he doesn't want to take the big one. Plus the video camera. Then there are all the batteries, chargers, memory sticks, tripod, monopod. Then there's the computer stuff and I have no idea what all that involves. I know the end product is a backpack sized camera bag, a duffle bag full of accessories and the computer bag.

3. How about getting things lined up with neighbors..

The night before we usually ask about taking out the garbage, or at least bringing the cans back in. Mark usually mows before we go, he'll have his buddy watch to see if it needs it again before we get back.

Me- this trip, i only have 2 things set up right now, and one doesnt even have a date assigned to it...the rest will be to fly by the seat of my pants while there and plan stuff on a day to day basis.

Depends where we are going. Cubs bus trips are pretty routine. The end of July we are driving to Columbus to see Meatloaf at the Ohio state fair. It is the weekend before our Disney trip so it will be a little more complicated.

5. is it okay to not take as many pairs of underoos as days you will be gone, because some days you plan on never getting out of your bathing suit.


For Disney trips I buy a new package of underwear for everyone! That may or may not last the whole trip, but we stay at DVC and have a washer in the room.

A very brief update I should have posted sooner! Dan and Candi made it to their destination safe and sound! He texted me yesterday morning his time to see what time it was on the East Coast so he knew the time difference.... I had texted him late the day before thinking they would already be there and he told me they made it safe, but they were still on the plane......... If I hear anymore updates I will keep you guys posted!

Well now I'm all caught up as your trip is drawing to a close. Congratulations on having a little girl. As a daddy to two sweet princesses, I will tell you nothing compares with the love you feel from your daughters.

I've enjoyed reading about your trip and appreciate all of the pictures. I especially enjoyed the early morning chapter when you and your wife ran over to WL. While I wouldn't contemplate running anywhere at Disney World (except, perhaps to score a FP or a funnel cake), I do enjoy the early morning there. Some of my favorite memories from PORiverside was my morning coffee walk. The lobby at WL is especially beautiful in the early hours when it's so quiet you can actually hear the music. On our last trip to the CR, I was up exceptionally early one morning and really enjoyed creeping around the 4th floor and the 2d floor. Of course, sitting on our balcony watching the MK wake up is always a treat.

I've been skipping along just reading your chapter updates and not reading the commentary in between so maybe you've already answered this, when is the baby due and when are y'all headed back to WDW?

1. It depends - Disney a week ahead of time; all others a couple of days. Only because Disney we usually need summer clothes when we're not wearing them here in CT.

2. I upload all pictures and video to computer from a vacation as soon as we get home but for every day to day things I'll do it the night before we leave to make sure my memory card is all nice and clean.

3. If I see my neighbor I will tell her that we're going away but otherwise my husband has an uncle that comes up and checks on the house for us.

4. Plans for vacation usually happen only a month or so in advance. We're mostly camping this year because we got the new camper last year.

5. I take extra undies

Now for where you're going I do believe your going to Hawaii with your parents in their time share. I don't remember when you're coming home but I do believe you were going for a week or so.
