Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Hi there, I just found your TR for the first time today and I love all the updates. It's fun for me to learn what parkers enjoys as we are taking our daughter Mary (who will be 19 months) in less than 3 weeks. I know Parker is older but it's nice to get ideas. I also love the idea of having the glow sticks for the fairies. Although since she still tries to eat most things I'll probably save it for next year, lol

It's really fun to read along and feel like you are right there with everyone, thanks for sharing!

Hey Dan!

Finally got caught back up. Loved the dancing chipmunks. The chicago pics were nifty too. Nice pickup on the Undercover Boss. That certainly did look suspect. I don't many documentaries that shoot with multiple field cameras.

Kudos on the chili placement!

:welcome: glad to have you with us.

hope we are able to help you with some ideas for your little one, you will have a blast with her at that age there.

the glow sticks were great at night at the end of the day to keep him going while getting to the camper.

hey GB glad to see you around again. that is what i was thinking too looked a little too much rehearsed and to many people tagging along to be low cut documentary.

Mmmmm, chili!! Need me some of that- especially your spicy in this rather gray and misty day in Portland.

I'd have voted for yours, Dan. Chili is best with a kick- hence the name, right?? Chili??

thanks, im thinking, that what you typed in red is meant to be talking about the chili? :rolleyes1

mine was good, but alot of people were claiming it was not an "official" chili, since mine was made with chicken and with the spices i used had a fajita type flavor to it...

my response to them was it had meat, it had beans, it had tomato products, its chili get over it.

i was trying to go outside the box of a normal traditional chili, since we have so many of those at the cookoff.

Chapter 19. Another night time showdown in MK

this chapter will have some of disney and some of real world stuff...because i cant find all my pictures from the MK night they are on another hard drive so, i will do my best to finish up the MK night and throw in some other stuff as well.

if you remember ooohhh about 2 weeks ago now we left off seeing chip and dale at the school of michael jackson dancing entertaining the crowds...and candi and i had just gotten off space mountain. and upon coming out of space mountain did not see the parental units. so i said you take off and get "our spot" for the parade, which was about an hour away.

i waited for nana and papa...i thought they would be waiting for us, but instead if you remember they had a picture taken inside carousel of progress, so that is where they were, which i did not know at the time, i just waited around that area and had a hunch.

so once they met back up with me i said i sent candi off to hold down the fort and we had to get going.
"our spot" which candi and i found a on our honeymoon for parade watching at night is great, it is across from the christmas store in liberty square next to where the cart is that sells the umbrellas, i meant to take a picture of it but a little later you can see what we are across from.
it is a great spot, there is a railed off area that has a tree in it that once they place the rope there is only room for 1 person between the rope and the railing so you can sit on the railing and not worry about people crowding in on you, well most times that is.

Most of you may remmeber my showdown with the brazlian tour group kids on our last trip, well, we had another one this year.
We were getting closer to show time about 20 minutes away and a lady across from us sent her kids over to sit in front of us, now mind you it is close we are already standing with legs hitting the ropes so there is no room for someone in front of us and to have them still behind the rope.
you can see how close we are in this picture.
DSC01159.jpg

parker is already a little bit out in front of hte rope where he is.
so my dad politely tells them that they cant stay there they are not behind the rope, so they go back to there mom.

we can see her asking why they are back they say something to her and point at us, she sends them back over, and we see her saying some not so nice stuff to a lady next to her about us.
they come back and sit, and hold the rope outin front of them so they are now behind it, mind you they are pushing the rope out about 2 feet farther than it should be.

so my dad just politely tells them again, that pretty soon someone that works there is going to come and tell them they have to move.
sure enough a few minutes later the parade route guys walk along and tell them they have to move and tells my dad that they cant stay there, he says hey there not mine they belong across the street thats there parents...(they were about 7-12 years old all three of the kids) so the guy tells them to go back to the other side and stay there.

of course the mom starts shooting us eye daggers and talking to the lady next to her and throwing her arms all around... but whatcha going to do.

anywho thought i would share that with you guys.

seems like we atract that kind of attention each parade.

about 5 minutes to show time the glowing necklace that parker had stopped working, well it was one that i got candi on our honeymoon i think the batteries finally died, he was upset and candi was as well, i said hold on i got an idea.
i noticed that the cart when by a few minutes ago and they still had the exact same ones on there.

so i went up to the guy and all i said was it doesnt work anymore (didnt say why or when it was boughten just it didnt work anymore) the ball was in his court and he said hey not a problem grab another one. okay thanks buddy.

i go to walk back down the road to my seat and the CM stops me and says road closed parade is coming, i say see that tree right three thats my family thats where im going, okay buddy go ahead. gotta know how to sweet talk the CM's
i loved this parade as a kid growing up and glad it was back it brought back some good memories.

DSC01822.jpg

parker loved it as well.

DSC01835.jpg

right here when doppy stopped because of the floats stopping front of him, parker looked like hey get moving, and yelled out

"hey that way" and pointed for him to keep moving
DSC01186.jpg

he wanted to see more parade and was upset he stopped.

this next picture you can make out across the street some where the lady and her kids were sitting the kids had plenty of room and there was plenty of room for them when they went over there and all the kids were sittingon the ground in front of the adults...so not sure what her problem was.
DSC01173.jpg

i really liked the new float at the end that i have not seen before it was pretty cool and long.

DSC01843.jpg

after the parade, we moved on down main street and found a spot to wait for the new summer spetacular...which i hate to say, my dads camera didnt have many pics, and i cant find the ones candi took with mine, they are on another drive on another computer...so you get this one shot from the night time, papa and parker

DSC01853.jpg

parker loved the show and so did we, in fact he loved it so much that the way my dad was holding him, he leaked through and my dads whole side and front of his shirt was wet.

the storyline and the way they told it with the fireworks was awesome, the pirate attack was my favorite there were times when the fireworks that shot off form the castle looked like it was on fire.

after the show we bid farewell to the MK for now, we had another full day planned there the second week.

when we got on the boat to get back to the FW the captain told the one guy in the motor wheelchair to hold back until everyone got on then we would let him on in front area.

so as people are getting on they are packing in, me and my dad notice that the door to the boat dock is getting a little lower with each person getting on.
it got to the point where we were full of people and we are now a good 7 inches below the dock with the boat, man to much cotton candy on this boat i guess.

so the captain gets on the speaker and says he needs everyone to lean to the right a little...my dad looks at me says yeah i dont think this will work...

well sure enough the boat rose up higher than the dock on the left side, so we all had to lean back just a little bit to get it even. the guy started to drive on and made it, but then he couldnt get the back wheels on, because the turn was tight, so he got of the wheelchair and picked up the back end and pushed it through the door...which caused a few people to wonder how he could pick up a motorized wheelchair and move it like it was a bag of feathers. but anyway the captain was happy we were all aboard and shipped off.

it was back to the camper for a shower and all were asleep...next day we hit up TL water park

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
now its time for a little bit of weekend update, since the last chapter up there didnt have much in the way of pictures.
last weekend we were camping in the town that purdue is in, and went tailgating we woke up bright and earlier at 6:00 to give us time to wake up and make it to the 7:00 opening of the lot.

we end up get to the lot at 7:02 and there are already 30+ cars in the loat already unpacking, tents up 1 car had there firepit with a 2 foot fire already, we soon realized that we were not walking among tailgating newbies.

i was thinking we would get there and sit and relax a little bit, but nope we ended up getting everything set in a hurry, it was nice to get there and the sun wasnt all the way up yet.

DSC02773.jpg

and then we were set up within about 45 minutes.

DSC02774.jpg

after we were set up i learned something,

lesson learned: it is possible to use a full bottle of champagne and a carton of OJ and only make 3 mimosas (but then again if you are using quart jar size water bottles anything is possible)

then me and candis brother threw the football around a little bit.
DSC02776.jpg

we became friends with the guys next to us they were some grad students, that took over 2 hours to tweak there satelite TV to get the thing working, which was a fun time in its own right. and then seeing the goofballs next to us on the other side. but they were cool as well. no problems all day with either group.

i had burgers, dogs, brats and teriyaki chicken breasts cooking up, with hickory bacon and chili for toppings. everyone loved the food and couldnt eat anymore

DSC02779.jpg

another shot of our area set up and people finishing eating.

DSC02781.jpg

parker loved it out there he had a blast. the guys next to us were telling us all morning that when parker got there, he could come over and watch some cartoons. which parker gladly did, one of the guys spent a good amount of time making sure that parker was happy with his TV choice, there dog even sat next to parker hoping he would drop some food for him.

DSC02782.jpg

101_0850.jpg

i climbed up on the back of my truck to see what the rest of the lot looked like, there was a truck about 3 rows over that had a DJ booth set up on top of there truck playing music, it was nice, the songs were not bad, and most of the lot you could hear them so people had music for the tailgate and didnt have to have there own

DSC02785.jpg

i also took a few pics to stitch together but couldnt get them to work so i sent them to glennbo and he did it for me, check it out looks pretty good,

DSC02786Stitch.jpg

we were not going to tailgate after the game so before we went in, we packed our stuff up and headed out to the stadium. so in all our tailgate time was alot of fun, we had a good time, it wasnt that bad being surrounded by college kids with parker out there, even the frat guys on the other side of us were good as well. they were normal college kids but were not rowdy or crewd at all.

our seats were good, we were right by the boilermaker train, so parker had a great time watching that during the game.
DSC02794.jpg

here he is watching the train.
DSC02795.jpg

after the game we met up with a sgt. we knew while in school and hung out with him some, we still keep in touch with him and he is glad we did, we talk with him about once a month and its good to keep in touch.
DSC02813.jpg

so it was a great time tailgating and a good time at the game, and glad we got to see an old friend again after so long.
the update was long, but hope you guys enjoyed it. and sorry for having to wait to read this when i held the spot many hours ago.

Watching closely so I can be the first to get all the Judy sightings!!!
Oops, guess this is the wrong thread for that! I would say Candi sightings, but it is too far away to drive and visit Glenn's basement! :scared1:
Here's a little entertainment while we wait.

Nice, now all we need are some clowns and animals and we would have our very own circus! :yay:
