Squeak, Squeaker, Squeakin'.....October 2014 PTR

I have not done pin trading in a few years, I had almost broken my habit, but now seeing all this pin talk is making me want to pull them out again...shh...don't tell Jeremy. Hmm...I wonder where I put them...to be continued :lmao::rotfl2:

Don't tell Jeremy What !

I am glad that I never started with Pin trading, that would be just one more thing to spend my money on :rotfl: I hope that you are able to find the ones you are looking for on your trip!

Yay for getting your tickets!!!!! Sooo exciting!!

The two best food options I tried and loved on my trip were the strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and the Red Velvet cheesecake cupcake from Starring Rolls (although I see you already have a different choice from there... the butterfinger one also looked delicious!)

I am partial to my Robin Hood pins as well.

I'm partial to your Robin Hood pins, too!! Especially Prince John!!!!! I pin traded for the first time on my last trip and it was so much fun! And seeing your Robin Hood pins makes me want to go trade some cash for more ;)

Edit: So we got our April phone bill. I spent almost $20 on ADR day calling Disney since the ADR system crashed and I was calling to check on it/get an eta :faint:

:scared1: WOW. That's crazy.

I dug them out!! Literally, we still have some boxes packed up from moving and they were in one of those :lmao: I started pin trading/collecting in 2005. At one point I think I had almost 500 :rolleyes1 I had to get a grip on it quickly because it was getting out of hand...LOL

So anyway, I sold off a bunch of them on ebay a year or two ago, but this is what I have remaining. Most of them are Goofy! As you will be able to see, but I do have a few other randoms in there too! I don't wanna bog down your PTR with my photos so I will just give you the links to them :thumbsup2

Well you know, its never too late to start pin trading!! :p
And thank you! I'm pretty excited to pin trade now....until I actually have to ask a CM if I can see their pins cause then i will get all awkward and shy. lol.

I have heard many good things about the strawberry shortcake at Sunshine! I'm not typically a fruit in my cake girl but I think Andy would like it. oooh Red Velvet cheesecake cupcake! Well I am at Disney so I can totally have two cupcakes if I want too!! :p

I am pretty happy with my Robin Hood pins! I'm not sure how many are out so to have what I have is awesome! I whole heartedly advocate more pins! lol

I don't know how they sell now, but when I sold them they did EXTREMELY well! I remember one of them going for over $100. I mean at the moment, most of the pins I have are almost 10 years old, so I am kind of curious to see what they would go for nowadays.

Aww I love the Goofy with the ink pot too!! I used to have way too many pins, it was a total addiction, it was like our V&A budget each time we went :scared1: I finally decided enough was enough and now, recently, we only get a pin for each new resort we stay at. I was one of those people that just got the ones I liked, I never wanted to trade any :confused3 But what you guys are doing is a great idea, getting grab bags of them and trading those!! Super smart, I will think about trying that sometime!

Holy Pin Collection, Batman! Too awesome! I
Would totally start looking them up to see if you have any rare ones!

Greetings all! Well my week started out nice as the pins I ordered on ebay arrived! Weee! They sent a few extras as well which was nice.

Picture may be a little big so you can see them, although I still got glare on them, sorry, I am not a photographer! :rotfl:

I am going to keep the bottom four. Jack, Chip and Dale, Cheshire Cat hat and Grumpy(and maybe the cute Stitch). Now I did find a small knick on Aurora, a weird edge on Mowgli and a scuff/fade on the survey marker and the eyeball vinylmation. Not a big deal though since they sent extra and even without these ones I'm still ahead, which is exactly why they send the extras I think. Would I buy from them again? I would. The pins come in individual baggies and safely in bubble wrap packaging. I'm pretty content, I just want to get to the trading part!!! :cool1:

Also found ourselves in the dollar store this weekend and I picked these up.

Yes, they are from the dollarstore and aren't the greatest but tried them when we got home and they work. And because they have the guard around the blade you can wear them around your neck, running, and hands free. They aren't the most powerful but better then nothing. Although I'm hoping we won't even need them at all, just nice to have them in case!

In ADR news, oh boy. So Andy's birthday is the day we leave Disney, so the day before will be the day we celebrate. Going to get him the pin to wear and start the day at Boma, unlimited bacon will make him so very happy. Originally we were doing Boma on our leaving day but Magical Express can be up to 3 hours before our flight which is at 11am so might not have time for it. And then for dinner we will go to 'Ohana, again unlimited meat makes for a happy Andy(and I am excited as I have never dined there!). But I was planning that after dinner we wold head to the beach to watch hallowishes as we are currently not attending MNSSHP but I would love to see it again after ten years. Ugh, you guys I have no idea what I was thinking but I actually looked at my spread sheet this afternoon and realized that there is no MNSSHP that night!!! :rolleyes1:sad:

Oy vay! I mean regular Wishes is still awesome! But I love all the Halloween goodness added in. Of course we're still a little over 4 months to go and I could change everything around..but I'm pretty happy with my schedule. I mentioned it to Andy and we agreed we would play it by ear as two MNSSHP are happening on our Typhoon Lagoon day and on our Disney Quest day. So we might be up for heading over there for the fireworks. lol, if we do that, that means we will be at the Polynesian at four different times on our trip, which will help with my reasoning as to why we need to stay there on our next trip! :goodvibes It's seriously my dream resort(so while it may be more affordable now, will wait until all renovations are done!)

To all my friends in the US I hope you have a great Memorial day weekend! To everyone else hope you had a nice sunday!

That Figment pin is as cute as can be!! Those fans will come in handy. In the day in October it can still be a little warm sometimes. We bought one at Disney on our first trip and we still take it back every time!

I really hope you get to see Hallowishes! MNSSHP is our absolute favorite event/thing to do at the parks!! We try and go every year...The Boo To You parade is just amazing, trick-or-treating, characters dressed in costume!:love::love: I can't wait till we go in September! Is there a reason you guys aren't going, or was it just not really ever in your plans to go?

You got some really cute pins. That's too bad that a few of them had flaws. We didn't have any that did. But you might be right that they throw in the extra ones.

You know, I love Halloween, its just so much fun and fantastical, so you would think I would be all over going to MNSSHP. But I told Andy it would be a more laid back trip and I want to keep the down time to really enjoy and soak in AKL. I did do the party back when I was a CM (lol, thats still crazy for me to say) and there are youtube videos to get me through it(I watched Hallowishes this morning actually). I think October is a great time to go so I'm sure we will be back during it(famous last words I know!). So yeah, never planned on going to it. Of course who knows what will happen in the next 4 months! Although, i think if we decided to do a party it might be Horror nights at Universal as I think Andy would like that more. lol, can you tell I'm really trying to sell him on Disney/Florida this trip!:goodvibes

I'm happy that all of yours turned out nice! I'm okay with what I have and just excited to get to trading and hunting the elusive Pegasus pin!!
:goodvibes

Greetings all you lovely people! Been a while since I updated. I was going to last weekend but it ended up being pretty busy. Andy's work treated the office to a baseball game so we had to trek into downtown. I'm not actually a downtown person, I grew up in the country and the city can be a little overwhelming with the people and the rushing! Although I do find it very fascinating at the same time!

The view from our seats

Baseball games I find are just so much more relaxed and enjoyable compared to hockey and basketball games. Plus the tickets won't cost you an arm and a leg like hockey or basketball, atleast in Toronto. We had a great time! Plus! I saw a guy with a t-shirt with R2D2 wearing a Mickey ears hat!! How awesome was that?! And how appropriate with Star Wars Weekend going on!

And while still a little offtopic but with a Disney twist. A friend at work game me all her vinyl doubles of Nightmare Before Christmas! Not Vinylmations, just the Funko vinyls. So now I have these keeping me company at my desk! I love Nightmare Before Christmas! I went as Sally one Halloween!

More on topic, I got myself some new shoes for Disney! I had read through a few of the "Best Shoes for Disney" threads and decided to go with the Sketchers Go Walk2. I picked them up last weekend, don't have a picture of them but they look like this(same color).

41NEmVW3T4L_SX395_.jpg

They fit almost like slippers! Took them for a test drive yesterday, it was a bit hot out too which was helpful. I felt like they could end up feeling sticky(no socks) if it was hotter, I'll probably bring some wick away socks as an option as well to use with them. They were very light though, just not as breathable as I was under the impression of.

Now I just need to decide if I'm going to buy another pair to bring with. I want something more sandal like. but I may save the $$$ and just bring my fake crocs. I'll be honest I think Crocs are ugly looking and used to make fun of them. But before our 2010 trip I ended up buying a cheap pair to bring with since I had heard good comfy things about them. I think I wore runners the first day, tried the crocs the second day and wore them the rest of the trip. They were great! So if you find something that works might as well keep it right? Although I wouldn't mind finding something in a different color other then the black ones I have.

So now is where I need to ask for your help/advice. This trip will be the first time I have ever done a break in the middle of the day so I just wanted to get your opinions if this sounds like a good strategy.

On our 2nd Disney Day(Day 4 of our vacation) we will be at Epcot but I want to head over to catch Wishes at MK and take advantage of their EMH. Does this sound like a good breakdown? I tried to build in bus waiting time as well, just incase.

Wake up 6:30- 7am
Leave AKL 7:30 -8am
Arrive Epcot 8:30-8:45am for Rope Drop @ 9am
Future world till lunch @ 11:50am (San Angel) Or earlier if we are ready as they open at 11:30am
Leave Epcot by 1pm to AKL
Chill, nap, swim
Leave AKL 3pm
Arrive Epcot by 4pm
World Showcase / Food and Wine
Leave Epcot 7:30-8pm
Arrive MK 8:30-9
Memories & Wishes 9:45
MK open till 12am!

So does this seem plausible? Honestly? I figure if we are done Future World early we can go to lunch early and leave a little sooner as well. I feel like there is more that we want to see in World Showcase and will spend more time there, I'm okay with skipping Innoventions as well in FW. Will it be a long enough afternoon break? Enough time in World Showcase? We plan to just have dinner at the F&W booths, which hopefully won't be too horrendous as its a monday and the recommended park of the day. And if worse comes to worse and we miss Wishes we have two other free evening days that we can try to catch it. Appreciate any insight you can provide! :flower3:

Also yay for June and the ticker drops down to 3 Months and so many weeks/days. :cool1:

Yay!! Plans!! I do have a question, are you going to have more than one Epcot day or just the one for F&W?? First off, it definitely sounds doable! :woohoo: Coming from someone who puts herself on a tight schedule at Disney...well sometimes anyway!! :rotfl:

When we go to Epcot during F&W there are so many things we like to try and eat that we just eat both lunch and dinner at F&W. An October Monday should be fine as far as shorter lines for the Food booths, so I don't think I would worry about that at all! The only reason I ask is because the food booths open at 11:00 so if you were worried about getting out earlier for your afternoon break you could do one half of the festival for lunch and then the other side for dinner? Which leads me to the next thing :rotfl2:

If it were me and I wanted to do an afternoon break at the resort, I would probably want more time if I was wanting to go swimming. Leaving Epcot at 1 would put you back sometime around 1:30 or so depending on how long you would have to wait on a bus. Then I would want to shower after the pool, which wouldn't give me very much swim time, but if you don't need much then I think it would work out fine! That pool at Kidani is one of our favorite pools at Disney!

I think leaving Epcot at 7:30-8 should work out fine too, since you can just hop on the monorail! You should get there in plenty of time to see Wishes! And heck yeah, EMH!!

Thanks so much for the feed back! We plan to do a Epcot/Mk day on our last day but we'll doing a Boma Breakfast and an Ohana Dinner the same day. So F&W could be our lunch but not too much of it. Also we are doing dinner at Via Napoli on our AK day but I'm sure we will be too full of pizza and tiramisu afterwards.

Your right the break for sure doesn't seem long enough. But San Angel was Andy's only restaurant request so for sure want to do it. I will definitely be aiming to be at San Angel for 11:30 and maybe we can be heading out of the park by 12:30-12:45. I shouldn't need to change my ADR to 11:30 though right? Also thinking...maybe we can miss Wishes an just do it on our last night after Ohana. Waiting till our last night to do Wishes though is hard. I love seeing it!!! Or maybe just do less F&W, once the menus come out we can go through it and just mark the Must-Do's. Whatever gets missed we can hit up on the last day. So it might work out, its also nice cause we can play it by ear and decide onsite of we should miss Wishes/less F&W.

But it makes me feel a bit better that you think it still possibly doable, depending on our resort break! :goodvibes

....or we can add a day on to our trip!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Okay that probably won't happen.

Thanks so much for the advice!

Your plan for that day looks reasonable even if it is busy. That should be enough time to get to MK.
