I bought a new iPhone 4 for my son last year when Radio Shack had them for $149 with 2 yr renewal. Even though he's pretty good with his electronics now, I still purchased a warranty for it thru Square Trade. Fast forward to last Thursday when when he dropped it in the toilet! (Ewww!)

I was in Disney but I gave him all of the information to log into my account and make the claim. Within a day they had approved the claim and sent a refurbished iPhone 4 to replace the damaged one. Plus a prepaid label to return the bricked phone to them. The phone arrived Monday but he had already left to go back to college, using an old iPhone (original) until the replacement came. I shipped the new phone off to him and he just got it. Says it works perfectly and has no problem with it being a refurb. since his damaged phone wasn't brand new anyway.

If I hadn't had the warranty, it would have cost me nearly $350 plus another extension on my contract to replace the phone with AT&T. This only cost me the price of the warranty ($99) and the deductible ($50). I'm so glad that I spent the money to cover all of our phones.:thumbsup2

I'm debating (delaying) sending in a warranty claim for DD's iPod Touch. She dropped it and cracked the very corner of the screen. It's not too bad - in a silicone case, you can't even tell. And it has a screen cover so it's not falling apart. But we would never be able to replace the screen protector without the glass breaking apart there.

I just can't decide if I should do it now or wait until it breaks more or something else happens to it.

Amen to Square Trade Warranties. All my friends think I work for the company because I am always recommending them to everyone. But, I am like the previous poster. I have had to make 2 claims and they were fast and professional. They are a great company at a great price for warranties..

I just wonder WHEN Square Trade will be doing business in Wisconsin...Cuz - last time I checked, they can't.

How much is a square trade warranty on an iPhone?

It depends on what coverage you buy (we buy the extra Accidental Damage coverage) and I think maybe what model phone you have. You can get the price from their site. There are often coupon codes floating around and once you buy a warranty from them, they send out a lot of e-mail coupons.

Here are some you can try...

30% off THIRTY30 told me it was for selected users

$30 off FF30 told me my purchase was not eligible

20% off TWTYOFF worked for me.

Square Trade is GREAT! They refunded the entire cost of 2 laptops for us when the screens broke. We didn't have to pay any deductible. I warrantied my Nook Color for $27 which covers it for 2 years.

Does anyone know what happens if you don't have a receipt on file? I have every other receipt from TRU from 2009 but the one with dd's Ipod touch on it. Of course now it won't even turn on. I can't believe I can't find that receipt :sad1:

They really need your receipt in order to process your claim. Did you send it to them when you bought the warranty? If not, did you use a credit card to buy the ipod? Could TRU look the purchase up using the credit card info?

I hope you find the receipt somehow. It would stink to have paid for the extended warranty and not have the proof you need to make a claim on it.

In my acct it says that it isn't on file, and while I meant to send it to them I can't remember if I actually did. I have been looking through my files and I have almost every other receipt from TRU but that one. I'm worried that I put it somewhere else with the intention of sending it and then maybe threw it out. I do have a record of the purchase under my rewards acct, but it isn't an actual receipt, it just has the date, item and price paid for it. I don't think TRU would be able to pull any info on that purchase (it was done in store not online). I'm kicking myself, but at least dd got a new one for Christmas so she isn't relying on the broken one. I was going to use it for myself ;)

I scan my receipts and send them in as soon as I get a warranty. It's sometimes hard to find them later. If you bought it online, you can pull it up that way.
